Music has a really special way of bringing people together, no matter where they are in the world.

It has been proven over and over again by various spontaneous performances that went viral.

In a mall in India, patrons were in for a treat but none of them knew about it.

In the middle of an open area, instruments were strewn in different positions. One of them even has a “For Sale” sign hanging about like it’s some kind of display.

Then, a man sits behind the drum set.

Spontaneous shows are really popular on the internet, so people were cracking smiles when they heard the first drumbeats.

Maybe the guy was just trying out the displays? Maybe he’s just playing around?

Or maybe, this is the start of an entire musical show.

Several floors and stores away from the drummer is an unassuming man carrying a violin.

He stood up when he heard the drums and made his way toward it. In his long trip to the musical center, musicians were also sprouting one by one.

Keytar player Sumesh Anand lugged his instrument and joined the group along with guitarists Joseph Periappuram and Jackson Sebastian.

This time, the music got louder and a bit more vibrant.

To add more flavor to the music, djembe player Yasir Yachu and darbuka player Sonu Sebastian provided a traditional flair.

At that moment, people were already flocking to them with their phones out.

Then, just as the accompaniments were reaching their peak, the violinist, Abhijith Nair joined the band.

He made a strong entrance with a jig-sounding intro that complimented each instrument in the group.

Nair’s first training was in Karnatic music and other related styles. He soon developed and trained with different instruments soon after and became highly proficient with the violin.

His career took off when his brother started producing and posting his music on YouTube where he got tons of followers and views.

This spontaneous performance is just one of many that Nair did.

The seven-minute video was a treat to the ears, moving from one style to another.

Quick-noted jigs were followed by rocks and blues. He even played traditional tunes together with the Indian percussions.

They even shifted to alternative rock when their drummer took the audience on a drum solo joyride.

But in the end, he played A.R. Rahman’s Jai Ho – a track performed by The Pussy Cat Dolls for the hit movie Slumdog Millionaire.

The people around them were beaming with giant smiles of admiration.

“I’m a guitarist but after seeing this guy playing violin, I’ll quit playing guitar and start to learn to play violin.” Said one inspired commenter.

Another commenter found himself swooning over all of Indian culture.

“Every day I seem to come across another piece of the Indian people and everything about them leaves a huge impression on me about their people and culture they have everything to be proud of, I love these people.” Said another.

“Absolutely melodious!” praised another commenter, “Love, love, love all the instruments and musicians playing such diversity.”
