R&B is a genre that always feels spontaneous and fresh.

You’ll never hear the same vocal runs on live versions of records compared to the studio versions. One could even change the whole structure of the song making it almost unrecognizable—just like this R&B artist does to his cover performances.

He was first recognized when he first appeared on X Factor Australia in 2012 as a competitor along with the band he was in called The Collective.

After the show, they were able to play as a band for a short time after they signed with Sony Music Australia. During that time, they were able to release seven singles and a self-titled album.

However, in 2015, the band eventually dispersed.

In the same year, he started recording R&B, hip-hop, pop and rap covers in his studio, which is his bedroom. Until then, he managed to rack up millions of viewers and built himself a large fan-base that worships his unique covers.

One of his covers that wowed the world was his attempt on a classic R&B hit way back in the ’90s.

After doing numerous R&B transformation covers from 2015’s pop hits like Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” or Shawn Mendez’ “Stitches,” he decided to go back in time to try out a classic R&B hit from the 90s.

The song was called “Pony” and it was sung and recorded by American singer Ginuwine, which was one of the singles from his debut album Ginuwine… The Bachelor in 1996.

The original song offered a heavy drop beat with clear hip-hop vibes. However, what Singe did was he softened it up and gave the classic a more soulful approach.

It was a whole new song from the beginning before he even gets into it!

Singe grabbed his electric guitar and plucked a few riffs and looped the track over and over.

Next, he overlaid the guitar track with the soft keys he produced on his electric organ. Last but not least, he added some deep bass notes, finger snaps and claps to give the song some percussion.

It was only the intro, but you wouldn’t recognize the song without looking at the video title.

After the intro, he immediately turned to his recording microphone to officially start the cover.

His chilling voice was the winning factor on this cover.

His smooth and angelic voice was a lady-killer and it blended well with his sick instrumentals.

His vocal runs are just as impressive! He sometimes adds in some growls to each end to add to the persuasive tone of his voice.

Singe even showed the range potential of his voice as he suddenly switched into a higher octave while singing the chorus.

The transformation was almost surreal, but with Singe’s talent, it was easily done.
