When you’re a good singer, you can take on pretty much any song and make it sound great. It just takes a bit of talent and a lot of practice. That’s why there are so many amazing musicians coming out with original music.

Marc Martel is a Canadian Christian rock musician. He’s been blowing his fans away with his music since 1999. At that time, he formed the band Downhere with his roommate and a few friends from college.
Solo career
Marc didn’t stay in the band for too long. Instead, he decided to pursue a solo career. That all began in 2011. He sang the Queen classic “Somebody to Love.” That performance ended up being a big deal, as it got millions of views and landed him on the Ellen DeGeneres show.
Queen tour
His performance of “Somebody to Love” was entered into a competition, which led to him being one of the winners. That means he got to tour around with The Queen Extravaganza back in 2012. You can only imagine what a cool experience that must’ve been.
His first EP
Then, Marc decided to branch out. He came out with his first EP in 2013. His full-length album appeared a year later, which was a big hit.
Expanding his career
Now, Marc lives in Nashville with his wife, Crystal. He works on all kinds of musical projects that fall into a wide range of categories. But he continues to wow audiences with his strong voice.

While Marc is working on other projects now, that doesn’t mean he’s forgotten about everything he did with Queen music. After all, it’s where he got his start as a solo artist. That’s why you can find new Queen performances from him from time to time.

Marc makes YouTube videos to share with his fans. In 2018, he uploaded a new one. People who knew about his work before were excited because this video was a cover of “Bohemian Rhapsody.” With this likely being the most famous Queen song of all, a lot of people figured it would be good.

From the first few words Marc sings, you know it’s going to be an incredible performance. His voice is clear. And he’s playing the piano, too. But there’s one thing viewers can’t get over.

It’s kind of crazy but Marc does sound like Freddie Mercury. If you weren’t watching the video, you might not realize it’s not Queen. And since the sound quality is so good, it feels like you’re being transported to another time.
