When Los Angeles magician Justin Willman and his comedian/photographer bride-to-be Jillian Sipkins were planning their wedding – they knew they had to do something out of the ordinary.
Not being the best dancers in the world, the creative-thinking couple decided to get a little ‘tricky’ for their first dance.

But first, a little backstory on the adorably talented couple. The Southern California couple first laid eyes on each other at Seth Rogan’s 2012 ‘Hilarity for Charity’ event. Then, Sipkins saw Willman perform in Hollywood at a magician’s nightclub and knew she wanted a first date. Since then? The rest is history!
When the day of their Malibu wedding came around, they had something very special in store for all of their family and friends. They were going to make their first dance very, very magical.
Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ “I Put a Spell on You” came over the speakers as Willman stood on the dance floor – then he gestures for his new wife to join him.
Sipkins and Willman begin to perform a two-and-a-half-minute routine that they had been practicing for quite some time. Clearly, it was well worth all the time and effort!
“Every other day for an hour or two. Neither of us has ever really danced before. My lack of experience is quite evident, Jill was able to fake it well,” he said, “The big move at the end was accomplished with a combination of magic and a few thousand sit-ups. We’ll leave it at that.”
The couple flipped, twirled, and posed all across the dance floor as family and friends watched intently from the sidelines. They knew the couple must have something up their sleeves.
Then, right before the song ends, Sipkins helps Willman lean back…then lean back further…then lean back even further – giving each other a kiss while Willman appears to levitate!

Guests can’t believe their eyes as Willman appears to stay suspended in air with nothing holding him up. And, of course, when the video was uploaded on YouTube, online viewers believed it must have had something to do with the chair that the newlyweds moved out of the way or perhaps the rug in the middle of the floor.
As for the magician? Of course, he will never reveal the secrets behind his tricks.
“Our big move at the end was accomplished with a mix of magic and a few thousand sit-ups,” he told People. “It was a lot more fun than we expected – the practice time actually gave us a few uninterrupted hours each day leading up to the wedding – and pulling it off for our guests made it worth all the prep.”
“The fact that people are responding so positively to the videos is really a bonus at this point. The wedding day was perfect, and now we get to see that reflected back to us by a whole bunch of strangers. It’s pretty surreal.”
Justin also uploaded some great photos to his Instagram account that truly sum up the magic of the day – like the expression on his dad’s face!

“My dad’s reaction. Worth every penny,” Willman wrote in his caption on Instagram.
The jaw-dropping performance was certainly something that the lovely couple will remember for the rest of their lives – and so will their guests!
