Madilyn Bailey took to the America’s Got Talent stage with a song full of hate and just made everyone smile.
Bailey’s got millions of views on TikTok and YouTube. Her cover of “Titanium” has over 114 million views. Madilyn’s YouTube channel has over 1.1 billion views in total and 8.48 million subscribers.
The girl from Wisconsin, where she says there are more cows than people, decided to move to Los Angeles and it was there that her online career took off. She can sing no doubt about it.
Talent Recap has this on Bailey,
“Madilyn’s cover of “Titanium” became so popular that it led to her signing a deal with Warner Music Group’s label PlayOn in France in 2015. Her covers dominated the radio and led to her becoming an RIAA Gold Certified artist. She released her Muse Box album in France in 2015. She attended the Billboard Music Awards in 2015 and again in 2016. Madilyn released her Wiser EP in 2016 and has toured all over the world to promote her music. She is about to hit 800,000 Instagram followers. After her audition airs, expect that number to near 1 million followers.”
But with online fame comes the inevitable bashers. Trolls filling her comments section with hate.
So Madilyn decided to turn all that hate in to a song which she performed on the AGT stage.
This is where her songwriting skills come in to play. How do you turn hateful comments in to a song?
Howie, Heidi, Sofia, and Simon were surprised when Bailey told them about her song. Simon thought it was a good idea, while Howie says she’s taking ugliness and making it beautiful.
“My mom thinks you just got killed by a cat. They just hauled this song away in a body bag. Ear murder.”
Brutal comments. But that’s just the start. It’s a really upbeat song too, sort of reminds you of Taylor Swift’s first album. Except Madilyn isn’t singing about her exes. Just haters. A lot of haters.
Madilyn herself posted in the comments section saying,
“soooooo many of you asked me to go on AGT. I finally got brave enough 😌”
She’s brave alright!
Another viewer took Bailey’s side and commented,
“Why even blur out the names of these haters? They seem quite confident in their opinions 🤣 In all seriousness what a way to destroy the haters. Definitely worthy of a golden buzzer”
As the song builds, the crowd hanging on to every word, the lyrics go from light jests to horrible insults and even the judges couldn’t help but smile at the talented young lady on stage.
Madilyn’s got the audience clapping along to the beat. For each hateful comment she sings, they cheer her along, adding insult to the bashers whose words are now immortalized on the internet.
We only have to wonder now what the judges had to say. By the looks of it though, they were impressed!
It’s a brilliant twist on dealing with haters! Watch and listen to the talented Madilyn Bailey below!
