Luke Bryan is one of the biggest country artists in the world today, he has 7 studio albums and has travelled the world performing for millions of fans.
Not only is he incredibly famous, but he also seems like a genuinely kind and caring person.
This is made extremely obvious after what he did for one of his young fans.
Ethan Payne was a 13-year-old country music fan when he had the chance to meet his idol during a Meet-and-Greet before Luke’s concert.
He waited patiently in line to meet the man he looked up to, and introduced himself nervously.
But there was no need for Ethan to be nervous, he was a special guest at the concert that night.
Ethan was there with the Make-A-Wish program.
At 18 months old, Ethan was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, a life-threatening disease that causes severe damage to the lungs and many other organs.
In and out of the hospital since he was just a baby, Ethan had had a rough start to life.
There was one thing though, that helped him through the pain and struggles of his day-to-day life…
Ethan loved music.
He had taught himself to play guitar and sing, and Luke was one of his very favorite artists.
Therefore, when it came time for him to decide what he wanted to do as his Wish, he knew it was to meet the man that had unknowingly helped him persevere.
Ethan brought his guitar to the Meet-and-Greet and asked Luke if he could sing one of his songs for him.
Luke agreed and was shocked by the young boy’s talent, not only did he know every chord and word, but his voice was amazing as well.
Right then and there Luke asked the young man if he wanted to perform with him in front of the entire audience of 50,000 people.
“Yes, sir.” was Ethan’s reply and, before long, he was invited onto the stage to sing.
Seemingly not fazed in the slightest, Ethan belted out the song ‘Do I’ with Luke watching on and providing backup vocals.
He did amazingly well and jumped at the chance to sing another when Luke asked him if he was up for it.
The boy nodded and together the two sang an incredible rendition of ‘Here’s to the Farmers’, and again, he aced every chord and lyric like he’d written them himself.
Before exiting the stage to a humongous and thunderous round of applause, Luke embraced Ethan and gave him one more special gift.
He lifted the guitar he was playing off his shoulders and gave it to the boy; it was an extra special guitar for Luke, it was the first instrument he had ever played in a big show.
And now it was Ethan’s, and the boy was elated.
It has now been a few years since the pair performed together and Ethan’s music career is beginning to take off.
His YouTube page has over 3,000 subscribers and 22 videos, some covers but he has also released a few of his own songs.
One of his songs is a beautiful ode to the man that helped shape his love for country music and the amazing time they spent together, aptly named ‘Luke’s Guitar’.
