The pandemic has wreaked havoc across the globe with some areas being more affected than others. In the United States, New York’s been the hardest hit state and their numbers have gone to astronomical levels.

Back in March, Lukas (who’s the son of music legend Willie Nelson) dedicated a special song to New York’s residents. He also shared some advice with viewers too.

If you’re in need of a positive distraction, check out Lukas’ “Quarantunes Evening Session” playlist.

Lukas has soul-lifting covers of “Hallelujah” and John Prine’s “Hello In There” on his YouTube channel. He also joined with his family for an at-home performance of, “Turn Off The News (Build A Garden),” a song from his band’s album of the same title.

Prepare for chills listening to Lukas’ version of “The Sound of Silence.”

There have been numerous artists who’ve covered Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” over the years, a classic song that hits many people straight in the heart. With everything going on in this world, Lukas also decided to take it on – dedicating his rendition to New York.

In the video posted on March 20th, he begins by sharing:

“This is a great American tune written by a native New Yorker, Paul Simon.”

Lukas then goes on to give the following advice:

“And there’s a lot happening in New York right now, and if we all don’t encourage each other to bunker down then it might happen all over this country. So don’t be silent – encourage your friends and loved ones to stay indoors.”
