If you’ve ever had a dog, you know just how close of a relationship you can have with an animal.
Although having a dog definitely means a lot of work and a lot of training, it also means a huge amount of trust and unconditional love that you almost can’t get anywhere else!
Let’s face it: dogs truly are some of the most loyal and selflessly loving beings on the planet—and as a result, they’ve rightfully won their reputation as “man’s best friend.”
And as it turns out, they’re also eligible to compete with us on shows like America’s Got Talent.
The performance we’re talking about came from the 2019 season of the show.
As it all begins, a man walks out onstage with an adorable Border Collie on a leash right along with him. He introduces himself as Lukas—though first, he introduces his nine-year-old furry companion, Falco.
As he explains, he met Falco when he was only nine years old after his dog peed on his dad’s leg as a puppy! The two are best friends and have been through so much together.
Finally, he says that he and Falco are going to perform a “canine freestyle” for the crowd.
As it turns out, the two have been performing together for a long time!
Because they’ve done so much together, Falco hasn’t gotten older over the years and is ready for retirement. As Lukas explains, though, he wanted to bring his best friend onto America’s Got Talent as his final performance so that he could go out with a bang.
Finally, it’s time for the two of them to share their talents with the audience. After a moment, the Footloose theme song starts playing.
With that, their hilarious performance begins!
First, Lukas puts a cowboy hat on and Falco goes between his legs.
After that, the two of them are bobbing together to the beat of the music. After that, they start into some complicated choreography dancing to the song—it even includes walking backwards and having Falco weave between his legs as he goes!
As the performance continues, Falco puts his little paws on Lukas’s feet and the two of them dance together.
But the tricks don’t stop there—Falco even takes a leap onto Lukas’s back!
Though it goes without saying, this kind of intricate dancing is not easy to train.
After the two of them do a double high-five, Lukas breaks out his lasso above Falco—and Falco does a little roll on the floor. After that, he grabs the rope himself and lassos Lukas to the ground! When it’s all over, the two of them strike a pose for the audience.
As it ends, the audience gives them a huge round of applause!
For their part, the judges are clearly in love with these two.
As they explain, the two of them have so much personality and it’s clear that they love each other so much.
As Simon Cowell says himself, this may be one of the best dog acts they’ve ever had! When it’s all over, Lukas and Falco get their four yeses! Though it goes without saying, this act was a definite crowd-pleaser.
Congratulations to Lukas on Falco on their great act and their beautiful friendship! Check out the full performance below:
