The best years of hip hop were in the year 1980s, 1990s and the early 2000s.

During that time, Eminem rose to fame and brought out songs that captivated the entire world with his lyricism.

Because the music was so great, it’s no surprise that people like to reminisce on it—and in some cases, that’s when people reinvent it. That’s what Luca Stricagnoli, an Italian guitarist, did when he performed a guitar cover of one of Eminem’s iconic songs, “Lose Yourself.”

Although the original is powerful in its own right, Stricagnoli’s version is amazing!

He did his cover using finger-style playing mixed with some strumming at some parts. He has no problem making it sound as nearly lively and upbeat as the original with the help of his guitar ring—a device he used to give his song the percussion it lacked. By using it, the song sounds cleaner and easier than it would if he had used his palms.

The riffs he played are not completely complicated for seasoned guitarists, but what makes the cover so great is the fact that every part of his arrangement is played so perfectly! It is amazing how he does the bass, melody and lead parts, each complementing each other and not sounding confusing to the ear. The arrangement is so neat that he doesn’t need more guitarists to fill in the other parts.

Beyond that, the video quality is also equally amazing!

Playing an Eminem song in a tunnel full of graffiti is definitely true to the hip-hop spirit. Without a doubt, the video production is amazing and the background helps the video’s aesthetic quality. Even so, the acoustics of the tunnel also help him produce an improved audio output for this cover.

Eminem fans loved it so much that they went wild on the comment section.

Full of compliments, awe or admiration, some people even hilariously revised the song lyrics to make it match Luca’s guitar playing. It took a single comment for people to create a chain of comments, each adding their own verses of the song! Regardless, those people absolutely loved the video.

“Very, very talented Bro. I’ve seen this other dude do something similar where he did a song by Metallica’s Fade to Black, the way you guys do the music in a way that you can hear the melody of the guitar, vocals, and drums are simply amazing and you did it to an Eminem hit. True talent.” — Stevie Hodge

With all these factors combined, the performance was a hit on YouTube.

Since it was posted, the video went over 3.4 million views! Still, Stricagnoli has plenty of other epic songs on his channel as well. In some of them, he plays two to five guitars at once, he plays triple-necked guitars, modified capos and so on. Regardless of the gimmicks, his talent is one of a kind.

Even with all his YouTube success, Stricagnoli has an entire life outside the platform as well.

He is not just another successful YouTuber—he has been featured in magazines and TV channels countless times and has even attracted bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Walk Off the Earth with his talent and original approach to his music. He has been around the world playing his guitar to the people and he is nowhere near to stopping.
