Growing up with a grandmother is totally awesome, wouldn’t you agree?

For most of us, our granny, grandmom, nana, grammy, or my own personal favorite, gran-mammy is the person we go to when we have problems.

We seek them out if we want to feel spoiled, or even when we just want to have someone to talk to.

If you’re fond of talking with your grandparents about everything, especially your problems, then you’ve probably received some of the most meaningful advice.

It’s advice that’ll be treasured forever.

Emmy Russel, Loretta Lynn’s granddaughter, who is also a very good artist was nominated alongside fellow artist, Lukas Nelson for their tribute duet of the song “Lay Me Down.”

It was during CMT’s tribute to Loretta Lynn that Emmy and Lukas sang the hit song that their grandparents sang a few years back.

The original song, “Lay Me Down,” was released in 2015, by fellow country artist Willie Nelson.

The song hit home.

As a tribute, Willie’s grandson, Lukas, and Loretta’s granddaughter sang their rendition of the song.

Their version was beautiful, full of emotions, and outstanding.

No wonder they were nominated for the CMT Music Awards.

Their performance was truly spectacular.

A simple woman who is also “everybody’s friend.”
