All hopefuls who audition for the ‘Got Talent’ franchise are dreaming of getting that ‘Golden Buzzer’.
To them, it’s not just an advance ticket to the live semi-finals. Its meaning goes beyond that.
It’s an honor of being recognized by the world’s greatest talented people. It is like being incredibly different from the other auditionees.
Just recently, one New Yorker tried her luck at the 15th series of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
She’s Loren Allred from Brooklyn, New York and she wowed not just everyone present in the entire audition venue but the rest of the world!
Her prepared audition piece was the famous song ‘Never Enough’. It’s from the fifth-highest-grossing live-action musical film of all time ‘The Greatest Showman’.
Before she even sang, judge Simon Cowell asked her to share something about herself.
And she left everyone stunned with her response, “Well, I think some of you guys have actually heard my voice but you don’t know my face.”
She’s the original voice behind the song that she was about to sing!
Yes, you read that right. Loren Allred was the original voice behind the song ‘Never Enough’ when it was actually used in the movie.
It was performed by Swedish actress, Rebecca Ferguson’s character ‘Jenny Lind’.
As it turned out, the actress was just doing a lipsync during the scene and it was Loren Allred’s voice playing all along.
The audience weren’t the only ones shocked by the revelation but also the judges themselves, particularly, Simon Cowell.
She was more confident just singing behind the scenes before, but this time, she became ready to put a face to the song.
The voice was hers and it’s safe to say that so was the song, wouldn’t you agree?
‘Never Enough’ was meant for her and it was about time to let the world know who the real person was behind the song.
She hasn’t started yet but you could already tell that everyone was ecstatic to hear her sing.
Time to shine!
She started low and soft with the first few lines of the song. It’s the best intro for such a song and nobody could’ve done it better except Allred.
Then she began building the tempo and the volume.
Her vocal prowess started to show as she took off singing the lines…
“All the shine of a thousand spotlights
All the stars we steal from the night sky
Will never be enough
Never be enough
Towers of gold are still too little
These hands could hold the world but it’ll
Never be enough
Never be enough”
She was just halfway through her piece but the audience was already on their feet. They’re truly moved by Allred’s powerful but charming voice.
It was indeed a spine-chilling performance!
A standing ovation!
Allred left everyone amused by her song and the judges were no exception to it.
Simon Cowell was actually the first one to stand among his other co-judges.
The venue was filled with unending rounds of applause and cheers! The joy was deafening and it’s almost safe to say that not a single person disliked the performance.
Then suddenly, an unexpected surprise shocked everyone, especially Allred.
Judge Amanda Holden pressed the Golden Buzzer!
She did it before they even share their comments about the performance.
As the golden confetti started to shower on her, Allred couldn’t help but shed some tears.
Judge Holden and Allred shared the stage together during that beautiful moment.
Her co-judges, Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, and David Walliams were just as equally amazed as Holden as they each shared their beautiful comments about the performance.
Because of Holden’s Golden Busser, Allred will go straight to the live semi-finals.
Finally, she got the recognition she truly deserved.
