With Barbie movie hype in full swing, a certain earworm from generations ago is making a comeback.

I’m of course referring to Aqua’s “Barbie Girl”.

There’s no escaping it. 25 years later, it’s come back to remain stuck in our heads again thanks to memes about Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling’s live-action film.

You’re going to hear “Barbie Girl” a lot this summer, so why not appreciate a dance cover like this one?

Courtesy of these girls, who seem to be no older than 1st or 2nd grade.

We might all remember how nervous school performances made us.

Choice practice or group dances always made for great memories, but boy did they get the anxiety and stress going.

These girls are dressed for the part – bright and colorful with extravagant shades of pink and blue.

Definitely fitting in with the aesthetic of a plastic dollhouse.

This may disappoint some of you, but there’s no Kens to be seen here.

The song doesn’t really lend itself well to a dance number, but that didn’t stop them. It’s a simple dance, but it works. There’s only so many moves you can teach to a bunch of 6-year-olds

And they are getting quite a bit of mileage from those simple dance moves.

Oh, but don’t be fooled. They’ve got a few secret and more impressive dance moves. Like, say, a cartwheel.

Yes, these little girls can do cartwheels.

After the second chorus, the girls change positions and prepare the cartwheels.

I hope the audience appreciated that, because that isn’t easy at all!

And it isn’t just the front-row girls who can pull off cartwheels.

The girls in the back do some too, just to remind you that talent is in every one of them.

As for the elephant in the room: yes, the song’s lyrics aren’t exactly appropriate, let alone for a bunch of little kids to be dancing to.

But to be fair, we all danced to similarly inappropriate songs as kids.

It isn’t just cartwheels: these kids can do the splits too, which deserves an applause on its own.

Some of us might be able to do cartwheels and splits, but these kids are at far lower risk of pulling a muscle or two when they do it.

So don’t get cocky!

And looking dolled up while doing cute dance moves is very much in the spirit of Barbie, isn’t it?

Well, with the Barbie movie occupying everyone’s heads now, we might find a lot more grownups dancing or vibing to this song.

They might not be doing as many cartwheels or splits, though.

After all that, the girls got the round of applause they deserved.

I don’t know many 6-year-olds this nimble who can also rock a sparkly dress.

Huge props to these little ladies for putting up a stellar performance!
