Adorable little girl with “pep in her step” spots street band and quickly steals the show
She stole all their hearts in one fell swoop. 🤩

It can be hard to find live music on the streets these days when we’ve all got YouTube and Spotify, but the jazz scene is alive and well.

As long as there’s an audience, however big or small, people will play live.

And among some great jazz bands, there’s this one here. This is Tuba Skinny.

They’re no newcomers to the jazz scene.

They’ve been a band for 10 years and have a couple albums released.

Building their listeners and fanbase wasn’t easy. You’ve got to get out there and show them what you can do, which is exactly what they did.

And one day, the band performed live on the streets when they got something of a surprise collaboration.

They were going at it, drums, sax, guitar, and everything. They had a pretty nice crowd watching them already.

Then along came this listener: a little blonde girl, about 3 or 4 years old, maybe younger

Seems like she liked their music a lot more than they thought. She couldn’t help but feel it in her toes, and she needed to release it.

So she started dancing, and we’re so glad she did.

She had no professional training – she’s a toddler. But she wasn’t just jumping around with no rhythm either.

This little girl clearly had a spring in her step, and rhythm in her bones.

She could step and hop almost in sync with the timing that Tuba Skinny was playing at, and people noticed.

“Get that kid to dance class – any dance class – all the dance classes you can find. She has music and rhythm in her bones. What joyousness!” said one of the comments on the video

The band was enjoying her company just as much as the crowd did.

A bit of dance always makes music better, especially from someone as adorable as this.

This is the kind of entertainment I’d love to witness with a morning coffee. And it’s the type you can’t put a price on.

“This is why we play! For little kids to dance and for people to listen. What a good busk.” another comment read

I wonder if this is her first time hearing jazz. If it is, I think this could well be a gateway into listening to more jazz music when she grows up.

It wasn’t long before some of the band members had trouble hiding their smiles.

The trumpet and clarinet players in particular have some pretty big grins on their faces. I would too.

”Sign that dancer up today. What a little scene stealer. Wonderful fun as always. Thank you one and all.” another commenter wrote

Our little dancer’s got some fans already. Much deserved, don’t you think?

You can see more of Tuba Skinny’s work on their Instagram page. They do live street performances a lot, so you may be able to catch them if you’re in their area.

And as for the little girl, we wish her nothing but all the jazz music and love she can get.
