Bagatelle No. 25. You may not know it by that that name, but you’ll know the tune.

That’s because this song is better known by the name of Für Elise, infamously composed by none other than 19th century German composer Ludwig Van Beethoven.

It’s one of the most famous pieces of classical music, yet it wasn’t even published in his lifetime, rather 40 years after being discovered.

Ludwig Van Beethoven has inspired many young composers and musicians since his death in 1827.

In fact, Für Elise is often regarded as one of the standards of classical music. Für Elise translates to “For Elise”, but just who “Elise” is, remains a mystery to this day, although there are a handful fo leading theories. Beethoven’s legacy has certainly lived on, and although the song is highly complex, some very young musicians are talented enough to perform it.

It’s an intricate piece to play, with a few highly technical sections.

But its sweet and delicate sounding melody is what makes it a go-to for an air of sophistication and style. Remarkably, Beethoven notably went completely deaf by 1814 at age 44. He composed and performed for many years through his gradual loss of hearing and experience of tinnitus.

Perhaps one of the most remarkable players of this song would be a talented young 5-year-old girl named Cheryl.

With skill pouring out of her ears, she has been performing in recitals and at home from such an early age. It’s a truly impressive display of discipline for such a young musician. Not only that, but her little looks to the audience for approval prove that you can be a serious pianist, but after all, you can still be a child. In fact, Beethoven himself was a highly talented child on the keys and was suspected of being a prodigy.

Well, it seems this legacy has continued.

In this incredible video, you can witness her unbelievable talent as she performs her rendition of one of Beethoven’s most renowned masterpieces.

I shudder to think how many hours of training this young girl must have spent to reach this level of performance. She maintains incredible focus and concentration while playing and never falters. The only small breaks in her performance are for her dad to change the page over.

Aren’t kids still learning to read words at this age…but music too?!

This girl will surely one day be a top talent in the world of the piano. In fact, that day may not be very far away at all if she’s this talented so early on in life. If she continues on her current trajectory of piano learning, within no time she will be a shining star in a musical sky.

And it’s not only Beethoven that she plays.

Cheryl plays all of the greats, Bach, Mozart, all the composers you’d imagine in a room together at a classical composers convention. You will have to return and admit however, that her rendition of Beethoven’s is without a doubt her best (not to mention most adorable!) performance.
