Have you ever attended a Bruce Springsteen concert in person?
Then you know that he loves to invite a chosen fan (or fans) on stage to dance or sing with him.
Perhaps the most famous fan moment was for the video of his song, “Dancing in the Dark.” Even though it was a music video, it was actually filmed during one of Springsteen’s concerts in St. Paul, Minnesota.
He handpicked a young woman from the audience, who turned out to be Courteney Cox.
She was still an unknown personality then and she got her breakthrough moment from this video towards becoming a Hollywood actress.
Fun fact, Bruce Springsteen thought Courteney Cox was just a regular concertgoer. But film director Brian DePalma actually handpicked her from a casting call and flew her from NYC to Minnesota. Wow!
Although there haven’t been any newly discovered talent in his concerns since then, Springsteen fans still look forward to going on stage to perform with him.
Some have created eye-catching posters or wore their Elvis costume to get noticed. There was even a time when a fan just invited herself on stage.
And there were times when Springsteen would invite the rest of the fan’s family on stage to sing and dance with him.
The young lady, Nevaeh, in this featured video didn’t do anything special to get noticed. She was there with her parents and she was just singing along to Springsteen’s song, “Waitin’ on a Sunny Day.”
Moving around the stage, Springsteen had already noticed her, sitting on one of her parents’ shoulders.
And even his fellow band member, Steven Van Zandt, noticed her, too. But he strutted past her to entertain the audience on the other side of the stage.
And before they knew what was happening, Springsteen turned to them and gestured with his hand as if to ask, “Wanna join me on stage?”
They carried her on stage and Nevaeh walked to where Springsteen sat and waited for her.
He gestured to the band to stop so they could hear this little girl sing. And when placed the microphone in front of her lips, everyone was amazed!
This little girl definitely knew the song. And she wasn’t afraid to sing it in front of thousands of people either.
At one point, she looked over to where her parents were, who most likely gestured for her to go on. Because she did keep on singing!
Springsteen again joined her but quickly let Nevaeh take the spotlight with her singing.
“I’m mystified!” Springsteen exclaimed when Nevaeh finished singing.
He took her hand and told her to take a bow, which she did several times.
Even the YouTube viewers loved Nevaeh’s performance.
“I love that her voice gets deep and sad near the end of the song, so cute! Also, the way Bruce looks at her is hilarious,” Jenny Murphy Byrne said on YouTube.
“i can’t stop watching this. this is the cutest damn thing i’ve ever seen and it makes it even better when he keeps asking her to bow so the head band keeps almost falling off. she’s a doll and Bruce just on being a stud,” Michael Smithisler added.
“Oh my goodness this is so precious and so cute! Totally adorable moment. I love Bruce Springsteen’s reaction. And she’s so adorable!” Lala K gushed.
And when her parents said she was four years old, Springsteen said she’s the “youngest member of the E Street Band ever.”
