The great thing about music is that based on the genre, people get to dance all kinds of different styles. No matter what it is, being on the dance floor is a lot of fun. Sometimes, dancing involves two people swaying close together, and other times, it’s an individual doing their thing without having a partner.

Then, there’s line dancing. This particular style of dance is traditionally done to country music. Today, people do it to all kinds of genres, even hip-hop. What makes it so cool is that it involves a bunch of people all doing the same steps. But it’s a style of dance that can be done by two people or 50.

It’s a style of dance for everyone

With choreographed moves, line dancing is something people of all ages can do. Depending on the number of dancers, this takes place in lines of one or more, which is where it gets its name. After lining up side-by-side, the music plays and the dancing begins.

You don’t have to be an expert

Although a lot of people who line dance have been doing it for a long time, it’s something anyone can learn. That’s why sometimes you’ll see some awkward moves performed by one or more people. But that’s okay.

Once in a while…

…you’ll see a group of line dancers that blows you away. They’re so good that every step and slide is perfectly synchronized. Yes, it takes practice but these are the people who are fun to watch and even learn from. That’s the case with one group of line dancers, as proven in a video now seen more than 4.5 million times.

Doing their own thing

At the start of the video, you hear a soulful jazz song playing softly. Initially, the dancers rock back and forth without any synchronization. At this point, they’re just warming up. But quickly, they begin to feel the music. That’s when things change.

Perfect harmony

Soon, they’re all jamming, while stepping in perfect harmony. Unlike country line dancing where there’s a lot of bouncing around, this group has a unique groove. Every move they make is as smooth as silk.

So cool

Whether they’re turning, shuffling, or swaying, all three lines move as though they’re one. You can tell they’re really into the music and having a great time dancing.

They don’t miss a beat

Throughout the entire five-plus minute video, these line dancers are spot on. Usually, you’d see at least one person mess up but that’s not the case here.

Fancy footwork

If you pay close attention to their feet, you’ll notice several times they add in some fancy footwork. It’s kind of subtle but impressive just the same.

Smile during a tough time

With the pandemic keeping everyone at home, this is something everyone in your family could learn together. While you might not nail every move as these people did, you could put together a choreographed dance and perhaps even share it online.
