Kaohsiung All-Star Line Dancers perform a perfect “Let’s Twist Again” routine. You would have never guessed that they’ve taken up dancing classes just recently if we didn’t tell you so. Amazing outfits, wide smiles, and Checker’s timeless classic turn out to be a perfect combo. Enjoy!

None of the All-Star Line Dancers had a previous dancing experience when they came together, and now they gather every Saturday to practice various choreographies.

You’ve read that correctly. These beautiful ladies might seem like they’ve spent their entire lives on stage, but it’s the complete opposite. They formed a dance group in 2016, and things have simply taken off. A quarter of million people have already seen the video on YouTube.

Interestingly, ladies from Kaohsiung always wear attractive puffy, colorful skirts, and they also know to dance the bachata, jive dance, and several more types of line dance.

Line dancing started in the 1970s, but the song you hear is a decade older. In 1962, Chubby Checker’s hit song “Let’s Twist Again” even received a Grammy Award for Best Rock & Roll Recording.

What does the description “32 count, 4 wall” mean?

Whether you’re familiar with different dancing techniques or not, you’ve probably been intrigued by 32 and 4 in the video description. The 32-count phrase refers to the number of beats or pulses that go by music. That simply means that a choreographer will structure your moves in 32 count blocks.

Do you remember when dancers count their steps while the beat goes on? Well, this is why. On the other hand, a 4-wall line dance means that individual dancers will line up without partners and follow a pattern of steps.

Speaking of choreographers, Steve and Claire Rutter have been teaching Line Dance for over 20 years.

Both choreographers run clubs in Shropshire and Wolverhampton, catering to every level. The duo has choreographed the beautiful, energetic routine you can watch in the video. It feels incredible to see so many women enjoying themselves.

Check out their moves. They are well-balanced but straightforward and appealing-perfect for beginners.

Who would have thought that a Taiwanese city would cherish line dancing so much?! Music, indeed, connects people worldwide.

We loved seeing ladies of all ages enjoying themselves.

Take a close look, and you’ll see that some dancers are probably in their 50s, but they dance effortlessly. It feels phenomenal to watch so many women dancing the twist.

The best part about the video is that the tempo builds up slowly. At first, the rhythm is slow, but then it goes faster and moves you from the seat. The lady on the right smiles the whole time, making it impossible to take eyes off the screen.

“Your beautiful dancing is so smart and praiseful” is just one of numerous kind comments on YouTube.

We agree. It’s always a pleasure to see someone who dances with pure passion. Kaohsiung Line Dancers show that George Eliot was right when he said that “it is never too late to be what you might have been.” Ladies, you are fantastic dancers, and keep up the excellent work.
