Ever envisioned what your wedding would be like? From the theme and colors, to the dresses and suits, to the food and reception, right down to the festivities, everyone has had the wedding jitters and for those of you who are married, you know what I’m going on about.
There is a lot of planning involved. And everyone wants it to be perfect since it is a once in a lifetime (well usually) moment shared by two people who love each other. A lot of planning and a lot of money. Let’s get that out of the way.
But once the event is underway, they just leave it up to fate and come what may, just enjoy the day.
But the exciting stuff usually happens at the reception. When the boys and girls, parents and aunts, have had their bellies filled and everyone cuts loose to enjoy the fun.
One of the most anticipated moments are the bride and groom’s first dance together as husband and wife. And while it is usually a slow, sentimental dance felt from the heart and done to a romantic song, there are other lovers who walk a different path.
The more adventurous and creative couples know that a wedding is typically slow paced already.
This newly wed couple decided to inject a little fun to their first dance together. Lindy Hop, anyone?

Jason and Hannah Lee had other ideas. There will be plenty of time for romance and all the sweet, sappy moments. This is a party!
The Lindy Hop was so named when Charles Lindbergh flew to Paris in 1927 and a newspaper headline went, “Lindy hops the Atlantic”. Ironically, the dance has no “hop” in it. What it is is a solid, flowing style that is undoubtedly joyful to watch. It resembles the music of the late 20s to early 40s jazz music of which they complement each other’s styles.
As they are announced on the floor, Jason struts confidently, looking very handsome in his suit.
He calls to the crowd and his friends as if to hype up the moment and you can see the beautiful bride smiling to the left.
Jason starts bopping and bouncing and as he removes his jacket, he beckons to Hannah to which she gladly steps to him. Dancing to Olly Murs “Dance with me tonight”, the newly weds launch into a lively one-two, three-four shuffle step coupled with a few spins which drew cheers from their friends and families.
Forget about dress shoes suited for a wedding. Jason and Hannah are rocking Chuck Taylors!
Just a light-hearted, kick them shoes around while smiling, hold my hand while twirling sequence goes on as these two have a blast delighting their audience with huge smiles on their faces.
They call Lindy Hop the Grandfather of all Swing dances. It relies mostly on improvisation and is athletic and playful for both dancers since they are allowed to be spontaneous but also sophisticated all at once.
Exactly what Jason and Hannah are doing. she’s even got somersaults and crazy flips for good measure!
And since it is a party, the groomsmen and the bridesmaids have their way on the dance floor as well! Eventually, Jason calls on the guests to hit the floor and just have fun! These two are such a cool couple. It must have been quite an event.
