If you’ve been watching America’s Got Talent for a long time, you already know that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.
Although we mostly think of these shows as being for adult performers, the truth is that there are plenty of talented contestants of all ages.
If you discover your passion early in life, you start putting a ton of energy into it right away… and as a result, you have an advantage over so many other people!
Still, these performers were inspired by another performance on the show.
The performance we’re talking about comes from the 2019 season of America’s Got Talent.
The group calls themselves Light Balance Kids from Ukraine, and they were inspired by the adult performers Light Balance who also appeared on the show.
Much like the original group, these kids wanted to do an innovative dance performance that involved a light show and some interesting choreography. To achieve their dream, the kids are actually being coached by an original member of Light Balance!
With all that preparation, the kids were ready to perform in front of all of America.
After walking out and introducing themselves, the judges clear the way for the group to perform.
Before long, the kids run off stage to get in their costumes. After that, all the lights in the auditorium go down. Before long, the kids re-appear onstage in light-up costumes.
It’s clear that they’re doing a performance inspired by the Iron Man movies. The first kid who goes out seems to be playing Tony Stark, examining his Iron Man suit. After a moment, he breaks the suit into a bunch of pieces and each dancer gets one.
Next, there’s a whole slew of dancing Iron Men in a row!
By this point, the whole audience is completely engaged in the performance!
It’s clear that all the kids are having a ton of fun on stage… though it’s not as clear how they’re pulling off some of the trickier stunts! As just one example, some of the kids seem to be able to fly through the air just like Iron Man does.
Throughout the entire performance, it’s clear that there’s a whole additional level of light choreography on top of the actual dance choreography—and the combination wins over the whole audience.
When it’s finally over, the lights go down and the crowd erupts with applause!
After that, the lights go up and it’s time for the judges to give their feedback.
The first thing that surprises everybody is just how many kids there are on stage! Although it looked like it was only four kids, it turns out that there’s more like 15 or 20! Everyone applauds their technical abilities and their choreography. Even judge Simon Cowell says he was shocked by how impressive it all was!
After everyone gets their chance to say their piece, the group gets four yeses!
Although the performance was great, it’s all the more inspiring to hear what these kids came from.
As their coach explains, many of them have had difficult childhoods as a result of living in areas of Ukraine that have been ravaged by war. Still, they found a passion that kept them motivated and made it all the way to the national stage! For so many reasons, this is a performance that nobody in the audience is going to forget.
