There’s nothing more heavenly than the sounds of a choir, especially during the Christmas season.

While churches everywhere fill with glorious music this time of year – there’s one in particular that became the backdrop of a spectacular video that’s circulating the internet.

Libera is a boy’s choir group from South London whose voices are known worldwide. They have a history of stunning crowds with their performances and also moving listeners with the music they release.

In time for the holidays, Libera’s uploaded a music video to go along with their rendition of, “Carol of the Bells,” a song featured on their new Christmas album. Just be prepared for the goosebumps it might induce.

Choirs come in all shapes and sizes, but the end goal is always to spread beautiful music to others. When it comes to the group Libera – the members are male and between the ages of seven and 16.

Traditionally, the boys all wear matching white robes for their performances.

Libera’s website explains that they’ve been described as “ordinary” kids, yet – they also follow it up by saying that their music is “extraordinary.”

Libera’s made great accomplishments over the years. They’ve performed in front of crowds and important figures across the globe, and their albums have topped the charts.

“When I heard Libera sing it reminded me a lot of the Beach Boys – but actual boys – it actually brought me to tears.”

Libera’s video for their cover of “Carol of the Bells” was filmed at St Augustine’s Church in Kilburn, London. It’s at times referred to as the “Cathedral of North London.”

The beautiful architecture of the late-1800s church creates a perfect setting for Libera’s video. But just wait until you hear how stunning their voices sound when paired with the sight.

A couple of rows of singers are in the middle of the church with one boy at the center of them all. He delivers the classic opening to “Carol of the Bells” by his lonesome.

He slowly sings:

“Hark how the bells, sweet silver bells
All seem to say, ‘throw cares away’…”

For the next lines the others join in, and soon they sound like a choir of angels that’s been sent from up above. It’s just as chilling as one would expect.

On Libera’s website, they provide the following description in regards to the group’s vocals:

“With shimmering, mystical chords and ecstatic harmonies, they are unlike any other group you have ever heard. These are truly sounds to lift the soul. Celestial sounds for a new time.”

Different angles of the choir and the church are captured as the camera shifts around throughout the video.

The passion is evident on all of their faces as they beautifully belt out “Carol of the Bells” in a haunting way.
