Are you a Disney lover? Maybe you’re a Disney fanatic? That is like a step above fan.

Being a fanatic means you’ve seen every movie multiple times. You know all the songs. You have intricate rankings of Disney movies and all of the characters. You’ve been to the Disney parks. You have strong opinions on Disney-Pixar films. And you might be very big on the classics!

When it comes to Frozen, you don’t need to be a Disney fanatic or even a casual fan to have heard some of the music.

Frozen released in November 2013 and when it first opened, it had a fairly successful box office weekend. It pulled in short of $70 million, which isn’t bad but isn’t the biggest Disney box office weekend. Then again, don’t forget Disney owns Star Wars and Marvel, too.

However, Frozen became more and more popular within the first few months of its release. It just so happened that a blizzard rocked the Northeast that winter and everyone cracked the same joke about Elsa.

Since Disney’s success with Frozen, there have been two Frozen shorts and a sequel is finally in the works and set to be released in 2019.

On top of the theatrical releases, it was announced that Frozen would hit Broadway in New York City. The show debuted in the spring of 2018 and it has gotten remarkable reviews from critics.

To promote the show, star Caissie Levy appeared on The View to sing the hit song, “Let It Go,” live on TV for the very first time.

“Let It Go” was originally sung by Broadway veteran Idina Menzel in the film and it is a pretty iconic song in Disney history. The song won an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, a Critics’ Choice Award, and more.

The View and Good Morning America shared the video on Facebook. The video has gotten 1 million views in the first 24 hours, along with 5,000 shares, and over 1,000 comments.

One Facebook user wrote:

Another commenter was quick to defend Caissie’s version of this song:

What’s wrong with people? Of course she can sing. Yes it different to Idina but she has great technique (and listen to her sing the ‘Ghost’ soundtrack for more evidence of control and talent). And what a stunning production. Just enjoy it for what it is and be thankful we are keeping theatre and music alive and prominent in a culture of much utter-sh*teness in various other areas of the industry! (You all know what I mean) x

What do you think of this performance? Would you like to see Frozen on Broadway? I plan to look into how much tickets cost ASAP! Hopefully, they do a nationwide tour eventually, so people who can’t travel to New York can see it.
