Lady Gaga caused quite a smash when her 2009 hit song “Bad Romance” came out.
She’s recorded many hits over her career, and this one was no exception: it topped the charts in more than 20 countries. We all remember the unusual music video and how it caught the world’s attention, but have you ever imagined the track in a vintage style with lyrics put in a whole different context?

Postmodern Jukebox did a great job of creating it for us, and we couldn’t get enough of it!

Postmodern Jukebox, or PMJ for short, is a rotating music collective founded by arranger and pianist Scott Bradlee in 2011.
They’re known for making creative covers of popular modern music, mostly in a swing or jazz form. Five million people are subscribed to PMJ’s official YouTube channel, and 270,000 fans follow them on Instagram. They post every week, and the channel’s content is quite versatile, ranging from Guns N’ Roses to U2.

Postmodern Jukebox aims to cover different genres and offer the best to the audience.
We love the effort they put into arrangement, performance, delivery and appearance. It’s like a breath of fresh air on a scene that often repeats itself! This video’s concept is a 1920’s remake of “Bad Romance.” Ariana Savalas sings for us, but there’s a pleasant surprise in the form of adorable tap dancer Sarah Reich.

Mike Rocha plays the trumpet, Lemar Guillary’s on the trombone, Jacob Scesney dazzles us with the clarinet and Adam Cubota adds a little bass to the mix.
We shouldn’t forget the drummer Chip Thomas and Scott Bradlee on piano, of course.
This musical burlesque queen and tap dance prodigy create some real magic together!

Ariana Savalas is an American singer and burlesque performer.
She’s been called the Dita Von Teese of music, the one with the fruitful discography behind her. Her collaboration with Scott Bradlee turned out to be a very successful project, and they’ve performed together at venues such as Radio City Music Hall, The Greek Theater and the O2 Academy in London.

Another magnificent lady from the video is tap dance instructor, choreographer and performer Sarah Reich.
Sarah began tap dancing at the age of five, and she’s best known for touring the United States and Europe in 2015 and 2016 with Postmodern Jukebox. The two women are marvelous together, and they’ve put on a remarkable show that will make you wish to travel back through time.
This was an iconic, spot-on performance!

You’ll find everything that you need in the video: the piano ragtime, the muted trumpets, the walking bass, the vintage voice and an extremely skilled tapper-flapper.
All the elements combined make this video a true representation of an older era. It offers you a unique time-travel experience!

What we love the most about the video is just how much everyone’s enjoying themselves.
These people are in love with performing, and they do it because they are having so much fun. Ariana is an incredible singer. Not only does she sing heavenly, but her whistle is a piece of art too.
Since it was posted in 2015, the video has garnered more than 35 million YouTube views!

The popularity of the video is not at all surprising, since it radiates the quality and so much positive attitude.
This version’s got a contagious tempo to it, and Postmodern Jukebox should be celebrated for doing what they love and being so awesome at it. We hope that they’ll continue to blow us away with their work!
