The successful movie became an 80s symbol, while Travolta and Newton-John’s careers peaked after that.
Of course, the best part of the movie is definitely the “You’re The One That I Want” song and the protagonists’ dance. Since then, many solo performers and group dancers have shown the world their own take on this dance.
Older and younger dancers, professional and amateurs, it seems like everyone has at some point danced to this song at some point.
At the same time, Grease for sure inspired many to take up dancing. You see, dance is more than just a hobby or a pastime. Not only is it good for our physical health, but it is also ideal for those who are looking for something that will help them relieve stress.
It improves mental and emotional fitness, while it is also a fun and loving musical activity. Since dance is a form of art, it also allows the person to express themselves in a unique and beautiful way.
And, what better than combining your hobby with your favorite movie or song?
Zaldy Lanas, a dance instructor from the Philippines, who lives in Italy, recently posted his group’s rendition of the dance on his YouTube channel, and the video went viral.
“Thank you everyone I wish you all had a good time dancing with us,” he wrote in the description box below the video.
In the video, a group of about twenty amateur dancers follows Lanas’ moves and dances to “You’re The One That I Want” like nobody’s watching.
The group consists only of women, and their ages vary from young to older ones. No matter what their age is, however, they all live the moment and dance from their hearts.
Lanas looks confident and happy, sure that he has taught his group the choreography and that they will all do their best and give it all in order for their performance to be not only decent, but close to professional.
Although the moves they do are not very difficult, they all follow the leader perfectly, and the result is perfectly synchronized, hardly giving away their being amateurs.
Everyone taking part in this dance group looks happy and excited to be doing what they love. After all, dance is more than a hobby, it’s an art, a form of expressing oneself. And it seems that these dancers have found the rhythm that expresses how they’re feeling at this moment.
The video has gone viral with more than 350k views, thousands of likes, and hundreds of comments.

It seems that everyone who watched this video just loved the energy these people had and enjoyed their “You’re The One That I Want” performance. And, who knows? Maybe it will inspire some to take up dancing!
