We’re big fans of all forms of dance, but there’s something about hip-hop that is truly uplifting to watch.

In our eyes, the more creative the choreography, the more entertaining it is—and we’re certainly enthralled by the fun dance routine to “September” performed by members of 1MILLION Dance Studio.

“September” by Earth, Wind & Fire is the kind of cheerful, high-spirited song that nobody can resist bopping along to.

Because of that, it makes it the perfect background tune to the dancers’ high energy performance! The four members of the group are all dressed in funky, colorful 90s-esque attire.

Throughout the video, they all shake their bodies, flip their hair, wiggle their hips and click their fingers in time to the catchy tune.

Everyone hits their moves with spot-on accuracy, jiving and bopping with serious swagger.

There’s some incredible twisting and contorting moves throughout the dance, leaving some viewers suggesting they would have to “break their bones” to master the routine. The choreography is clearly well-thought-out, with the dancers mirroring one another’s moves while facing in opposite directions. When the catchy chorus kicks in, there’s a moment of freestyle, where the dancers show off their own moves.

As an added bonus, it also lets them take a quick breather before completing the rest of the routine!

Other members of the dance class watch in appreciation from the floor, cheering and calling out to offer the group their support and encouragement.

One keen dancer even joins in from the sidelines. The dance was choreographed by Lia Kim, a 32-year-old hip-hop dancer from Korea and the CEO of 1MILLION Dance Studio. Kim is well-known for the impressive choreography in her routines, and most of them take on a hip-hop funk style.

Kim started out as nothing more than a young woman with a passion for street dancing.

She competed in a number of dance competitions and was soon a recognizable face in the industry. You might know Kim for snatching up the winning title of “Popping Champion” at the World Dance Competition. She’s also choreographed dance routines for the stars, including international bands like TWICE, BoA, Girls’ Generation and Sunmi.

Above all, though, Kim’s main passion is for her dance studio.

In her work, she brings together dancers around the world and hosts in-house choreography classes, many of which are recorded and shared online. With more than 19.8 million subscribers, we’d imagine Kim and her crew are some of the best-known faces in the dance industry today!

It’s easy to see what makes Kim’s style of dance so likable and enjoyable.

Her moves are impeccable, but they’re all performed with an edge of fun as well. The dancers perform exceptionally without taking themselves too seriously, which really brings out the fun of the routine.

Later in the clip, we see Kim teaching a larger group of students her moves before two students put on their own performance. It’s interesting to see how each person puts their own take on the routine—although the level of talent is consistent from one dancer to the next.

We’re not sure we could pull off any of the stunts involved in the “September” dance!

Even so, we’re more than happy to watch the professionals do it.

Congratulations to Kim and her dancers on pulling this off! Check out the full dance in the link below:
