If all goes according to plan in life, you only get to propose once. So it has to be special!

Brett Wolf came up with the perfect idea for how to pop the question to his long-time girlfriend, Torrie Buehne. But he couldn’t do it alone.

The pair live in Fenton, Missouri where Torrie teaches kindergarten at Stanton Elementary School. Brett knows how much the kids mean to Torrie, so he found a way to get the class involved in asking his big question. In fact, the whole school got involved! During a school-wide rally, which just so happened to fall on a Silly Hat Day, the principal made a special announcement about a new award for teachers that go above and beyond the call of duty.

They called it the “Love Is the Key” award.

Torrie is very conveniently the first recipient of this new mystery award.

Her reaction to being called up is priceless, as she looks both shocked and touched.

The “award” comes with a short video, where some of her current and former students describe what love means to them.

And as you can imagine, a kindergartener’s idea of what love means is pretty freakin’ cute!

“Love is when somebody really, really likes you.”

“Love is making people feel better when they’re sick.”

“Love means that you will never be apart from each other.”

It’s hard to tell if Torrie has figured out exactly what’s going on by the end of the video… but you can tell she knows something is up!

When the last student ends the video with “love means you’re gonna get married,” the whole audience erupts.

A slideshow of photos from the couple’s lives together starts rolling, and Torrie brings her hand up to cover her jaw which has basically hit the floor!

The adorable video is cut in with some clips of Anna and Hans from Frozen, and the hit song “Love Is An Open Door” from the same Disney film in the background.

It’s a song Torrie says she always made Brett lip sync with her! Her students have gotten up and are jumping and dancing around, hugging her with excitement. She’s clearly still just trying to process everything!

The entire auditorium is roaring with students and teachers all chanting “say yes!” as Brett comes to meet Torrie in the middle of the room.

He gets down on one knee and asks her to marry him…

And of course she says yes!

Torrie and Brett were married a year later, and her students were invited to be a part of the special day once again!

“Thirty students showed up and walked down the aisle, two-by-two. My family and friends at the wedding didn’t know the kids were coming. […] When they came out it was a big surprise! We definitely got lots of comments at the reception about how cute they were. It was so sweet to have them there.” – Torrie Wolf
