The King of Rock and Roll has had many legendary songs, but the haunting melody of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” has stuck with us for decades.

The song was covered by numerous artists, but Kina Grannis gave it a soft, acoustic charm. The song was initially written for a woman, and we’re glad to hear this young woman nailing it like a pro. For those who don’t know, Grannis is a beautiful, young artist who has come a long way since her victory at the 2008 Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest.

Two years later, she was in a studio recording her debut album Stairwells.

Grannis’ longtime collaboration with Wong Fu Production landed her a starring role in YouTube Red Original romantic comedy series Single By 30. It wasn’t the end of Kina’s acting career, though. In 2018, she made a cameo appearance in the award-winning movie Crazy Rich Asians.

In this video, she gives a new, fresh take on a song that’s more than half a century old.

Elvis Presley recorded “Can’t Help Falling In Love” in 1961. The melody is based on “Plaisir d’amour,” a popular French love song. Presley’s version topped the charts and was certified Platinum. The song peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, right behind the “Peppermint Twist.”

Needless to say, Grannis is a talented lady who has collaborated with many artists.

Boyce Avenue featured Grannis on several occasions. First, they recorded a cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car,” and you can check it out here. Then they recorded “With or Without You” by U2, which was also impressive. She also collaborated with Ryan Higa, David Choi and Jesse Epstein. Together they created a comedic song accompanied by a music video called “Millennial Love.” Seems like Grannis is a fruitful, young artist who’s eager to offer her music to the world!
