Are we human or are we dancer?
Dance has been around for millennia. It’s essential to human culture.
Civilization would be completely different without it!
Dance is perfect for self-expression, fun, and communication of values, traditions, and even stories.
And it’s perfect for building teamwork, coordination, and relationships!

No matter how ridiculous your moves, you can make it work!
Stay in rhythm and express yourself to the fullest.
Trying new styles can be challenging, but don’t give up!
Flawless coordination and communication take work. Synchronized dance routines require the ultimate precision.
Take this class, for example. They could use some bonding.
To facilitate togetherness, they’ve opted to participate in a coordinated dance.

So, why the hula hoops and sticks?
Well, it’s all part of the plan.
The hula hoops are for performance precision.
The sticks, on the other hand, will be used to sync with the rhythm.
A group of dancers stands on either end of the array of rings, ready to go.
Soothing music exits the loudspeakers. The students sway their hips and beat their sticks to the rhythm.
Then, they jump into the rings.

It’s a synchronized leap of faith.
The opposite dancers sync amid the ringed dance floor.
Their choreography’s identical, but their circles are their own.
The mirroring dancers navigate the circles, alternating orientation with each new beat.

Our esteemed dancers make their way back to the start of the line.
Then comes the second row.
This dance is just starting. There’s much more fun to come!
The step to the second row frees up the first row.

Now, the real fun begins.
Another batch of coordinated dancers enters the rings.
And then another…
And another.
Each dancer has at least one thing in common: they’re having an awesome time!

Don’t sleep on preschoolers.
Another wonderful example of coordinated dancing in the classroom comes from some eager little tykes.
But instead of rings, they have squares reminiscent of hopscotch.

Teacher takes her first step into the grid.
She makes use of her drum to maintain rhythm.
The students line up, ready to follow their fearless musical leader!
They jump to the following square, one by one.

Time to take off the training wheels.
Now, they’re on their own! Teacher insists they self-organize and do it themselves.
The students keep their line intact. They’re some smart cookies.
Each successive child gets a turn leading the line.

Generally, the teacher will start the dance session by showing the kids the ropes.
Instruments like drums or sticks are perfect for facilitating coordination and togetherness.
Within a matter of minutes, the kids will have the knowledge to perform the routine themselves.
Learning is awesome, isn’t it?
These children have successfully participated in a coordinated exercise with precision and ease.
The future is bright! They’re laying successful social seeds in the most fun way possible!
