Remember the name Kenny Petrie. The man is 64 and he looks like any sweet grandpa next door.
And surely he is a sweet man but when he took to the Britain’s Got Talent stage, this elderly gentleman whispered a little prayer to the rock gods before shredding his heart out.
A “Rock Legend” arrived and walked onto the stage where he let his guitar do the talking.
Petrie is actually a Company Director. He is no stranger to music since he regularly plays live on stage. The 64-year-old guitar master has a huge number of fans and following.
Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams had no idea they were in the presence of a very talented gentleman.
The moment Petrie gets up with his guitar hanging from his shoulders, he begins playing that familiar riff that had Aerosmith and Run-DMC playing on every radio in the eighties.
Kenny made everyone walk his way alright!
Talk about a mind-blowing performance with a guitar. Those who’ve rocked and those about to rock will definitely salute this soft spoken gentleman.
Petrie was born in Scotland. He moved to Britain when he was 35.
He first picked up a guitar in 1969 after seeing Jimi Hendrix on TV. The young Kenneth pestered his mom and dad to get him a guitar, and we are so glad he pestered them.
Amidst the pop songs, energetic dancing, and other odd performances, it’s good to see a man in his sixties bringing back good old rock and roll that’s for sure!
CalSaundersMusic knows Kenny and had this to say,
“Happy to see Kenny getting the recognition he deserves! Have been lucky enough to play with him and what he can do on a guitar just amazes me, best I’ve ever seen with my two eyes!”
Petrie is unreal with that electric guitar.
All four judges dropped their jaws while the crowd went wild listening to that guitar wail in the hands of the “Reverend”. They call Petrie that since there’s a joke of him being a former Catholic priest.
Which he denies. Well holy shredded guitar, Batman!
Another friend of his commented,
“Kenny Petrie is a friend mine I’ve seen him play live quite a few times he’s an absolutely amazing guitarist and a really nice guy to boot I didn’t know he was not the show and I don’t usually watch BGT but looks like ‘m going to this year he should win in my eyes he totally deserves it.”
His fingers flying across the fret board, strings stretching as far as they can go, Kenny brings the entire show down to its knees with rockers all over the world now searching for his name!
Judge David Walliams praised Kenneth saying that he was a “Rock God”. All the other judges seemed to agree with him.
Simon Cowell said that they didn’t expect him to put on such a brilliant performance. He and the other judges love surprises, and this has to be one of the best ones yet.
Kenneth received 4 Yeses and rightfully so. We’d love to see more of this guy!
Rock out with Kenny Petrie below!
