Kenichi Ebina isn’t a dancer. He’s a dance-isher. Ebina who hails from Tokyo, Japan is best known as the winner of the eighth season of America’s Got Talent on Sept. 18, 2013.

The then 38-year-old Ebina, who is now 43, walked out on stage in a black trench coat and explained that he wasn’t doing a dance. It was doing something he called a “dance-ish” performance.

Ebina told judge Heidi Klum that he found his passion for dance with one dance move, the running man.

“I knew only the one step called the running man and when I did it people got loud and I was like ‘Yeah’ and I was like ‘Oh, I feel good,'” he told her.

He explained that his performance would consist of dance-ish along with some robotic dance and martial arts, which made the judges look pretty confused.

“Dance-ish is my passion,” he said. “My dream is to do my full dance show in Las Vegas.”

And by the end of his routine, he got his wish.

Wearing a black trenchcoat, he began to do some crazy robotic movements. He wowed the judges with one move that looked like his head was detached from his body.

“I thought your head had come off your body it was that convincing,” said judge Mel B.

He then tosses off his trench coat as some dubstep music starts to play.

He then begins some peculiar movements where he slides on his knees and falls over on his body like some moves a stunt man would make.

He then lifts himself help as robotic noises sound while he appears to be floating. He then began incorporating some martial arts movements into his routine. He then slows his movements down in a Matrix-style way and appears to be dodging bullets.

He finishes off his routine with some martial arts style kicks.

“Kenichi, that was pretty awesome,” said Klum. “I loved it. The stuff that you did, I haven’t seen anything like it before. You have a control over your body that is unbelievable.”

Judge Howard Stern was fond of it too.

“You have a story to tell, you were doing the Matrix,” Stern said. “Right there, you did the whole move in 90 seconds. It was magnificent. I could watch you all day.”

All four judges were in love with his performance and sent him through to the next round in Las Vegas making his dream come true. You can watch the unique performance below.
