As soon as Thanksgiving is over our favorite musicians from all around the world start putting out their versions of our favorite Christmas classics.
But what do you get when you put three female country music legends on the same stage?
A stunning performance that time will likely be deemed as one of the greatest musical Christmas performances of our time. I’m talking about American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson’s rendition of “Silent Night.”
Clarkson is incredibly talented in her own right but when she’s joined on stage by country music stars Trisha Yearwood and Reba McEntire, it’s truly magic.
The women’s show-stopping performance took place at the American Country Countdown Awards in 2014. The performance starts with Clarkson standing center stage in a gorgeous red gown surrounded by a giant Christmas wreath and beautifully lit trees.
Clarkson grips her red studded microphone and just blows the crowd away with her velvety voice.
“That’s why I love Kelly, she is now one of the only singers that not change because of the fame, and I respect that.. I mean, she sings now 11 years and she is so.. herself. She’s a beautiful woman,” said one commenter on YouTube.
Then the crowd goes wild as Yearwood walks out on stage with Clarkson to sing the second verse. The two powerhouse vocalists are then joined by Clarkson’s stepmother-in-law McEntire.
The way these women’s voices blend is just heavenly.
“Don’t even care that it’s not Christmas cannot resist such on-point harmonies,” said another YouTuber.
The trio also performed a version of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” but it was their rendition of “Silent Night” that really wowed the crowd.
“Clarkson, the voice of her generation; singing my favorite Christmas hymn with the McEntire & Yearwood, two of the best voices of my generation – it doesn’t get any better than that! Well, maybe if Hill had been in on that harmony at the end!” said a commenter.
These women don’t mess around when it comes to Christmas and all have their own Christmas albums.
While we think all these women are equally talented everyone has their favorites.
“Wow, Reba looks incredibly young!! She looks younger and younger every time I see her,” said another YouTuber And Trisha Yearwood’s voice is gorgeous, wish we could hear more from her! Kelly, of course, has a great powerful voice too, but then Trisha outshined her and then Reba outshined them. Lol.”
