Celebrities catch a lot of flak for their weight.

They are either seen as too fat or too skinny. They just can’t win. A lot of them worry about the way they look. It can affect the types of jobs and sponsors they get and can be detrimental to their careers. Others, like Kelly Clarkson, don’t care what people think about their weight.

They know that what matters most is how they see themselves and the talent they are willing to share with the world.

Kelly has talked openly about her struggles with weight gain. She promotes self-love and she doesn’t want other people to think it’s okay to put others down because they might be a little bigger or even smaller than what others consider normal. She has spoken about her own weight many times, especially after she had her children.

She said:

“I love how people think that’s new. Like, welcome to the past 13 years.”

Even when she was thinner, she was told she wasn’t thin enough.

She discussed how she felt good about her body until she won a spot on “American Idol” and realized she wasn’t as thin as Hollywood would like for her to be. She said:

“I was the biggest girl in the show too. And I wasn’t big, but people would call me big. Because I was the biggest one on ‘Idol,’ I’ve kind of always gotten that.”

Surprisingly, Kelly isn’t worried about what people think about her.

She is more worried about how their comments toward her affect other people. She believes everyone should be happy in their skin and not worry about what others think. They also deserve to be able to watch or listen to their favorite actors and singers without worrying about their own weight. She explained:

“I think what hurts my feelings for people is that I’ll have a meet and greet after the show and a girl who’s like bigger than me will be in the meet and greet and be like, ‘Wow if they think you’re big I must be so fat to them. And it’s like, you’re just who you are. We are who we are – whatever size. And it doesn’t mean that we’re gonna be that forever.”

Kelly tries to stay healthy, but she also isn’t too hard on herself.

She says that she goes through phases where she is really motivated to work out and others where she just wants to watch TV and relax with a good bottle of wine.

She said:

“Sometimes we’re more fit. Like, especially me. I’m such a creative person that I yo-yo. So sometimes I’m more fit and I get into kickboxing hardcore. And then sometimes I don’t and I’m like … I’d rather have wine.”

When it comes to haters, Kelly doesn’t have time to argue with them or worry about their rude comments.

She knows that there will always be people out there who want to focus on the negative things in life, but she chooses to focus on the positives. One troll recently made a comment on one of her tweets.

User @Euger23 tweeted “You’re Fat” as a reply to a Fourth of July post that Clarkson made. She could have gotten mad and tweeted back a long reply full of harsh words, but instead, she made a simple reply that said it all.

She tweeted, “and Still Fucking Awesome….” right back to him.

That shut him up pretty quick and gave everyone a good laugh. Kelly Clarkson is on top of the world right now, and she isn’t about to let anyone get her down, especially not over her weight
