With everything that she contributed to the industry, Carol really deserved to be cited on all those prestigious award bodies.
I guess everyone will agree on how talented she is. Don’t you think about it?
Aside from singing, the two women bonded over their roots.
It was shared during the show that Carol and Kelly both came from Texas.
Intrigued by what the iconic comedy actress has to share about their motherland, Kelly probed on her fave food.
Kelly even mentioned the famous quesadilla, which Carol agreed also how delicious the Tex-Mex food is.
Kelly stunned everyone when she started singing.
She performed the iconic song of Carol at The Carol Burnett Show.
Clarkson gave her own rendition of it in a jazzy style.
The song “I’m So Glad We Had This Time Together” was popular because it was always performed by Carol every time her show ended.
Tempted by the first American Idol serenade, Carol sang along with her.
The comedienne picked up her microphone and broke into song with the host.
They continued singing along until the end of the verse.
Surely, it was a duet performance that no one ever thought could happen, but it deserved to be remembered very well as bought women shared the stage.
Carol did her iconic pose at the end of the song.
At the end of the performance, Burnett tugged her ear just like she would always do in her 80s variety show.
Joe Hamilton, Carol’s husband, wrote the closing theme song.
Where the lyric goes as:
I’m so glad we had this time together
Just to have a laugh or sing a song
Seems we just get started and before you know it
Comes the time we have to say, “So long.”
Isn’t it a great way to spend a birthday?
Carol also turned 90 on the same day that the show aired.
On top of that, she even shared it with another great singer who also had her birthday in the same month.
It really was a good day for both women, most especially for the Emmy-awarded actress.
Happy Birthday, Carol Burnett!
