Why is it that some children have more powerful voices than adults? I have seen so many videos of little kids singing with voices that I wish I had.
Not everyone is gifted with a beautiful voice and many don’t realize their pure talents early enough during their lives.
But little Kaylee Rogers knows exactly what she is talented at and that singing is her passion.
Little Big Shots is a TV show that showcases talented children from around the world. The kids get to interact and show off their personalities when interviewed by the show’s host, Steve Harvey.
The show is co-produced by Steve and Ellen DeGeneres. There have been many children with a range of talents on the program, from singers to dancers to martial artists to little whiz kids and much more!
11-year-old Kaylee Rogers is one of the many children to come to the show and show off her stunning voice.
Unlike the many before her, Kaylee has a voice that sounds much older than her actual age.
Kaylee appeared on the third episode of season three of Little Big Shots, “Eggcellent Eggsperiment.”
She began her performance of “Hallelujah” and sounded absolutely breathtaking. This song has been sung by many before, but Kaylee’s voice has a special something.
The lyrics sound chilling coming from an 11-year-old girl:
Well I’ve heard there was a secret chord
That David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don’t really care for music, do you?
Well it goes like this:
The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Then the performance got even better! Pentatonix joined Kaylee on stage and began to sing with her.
Since this video was posted on Facebook, it has gotten over 12 million views and nearly 3,000 shares! She is now an internet sensation.
It is incredible to see Kaylee performing so confidently, as three years ago she wasn’t even speaking to many people. Kaylee has autism and ADHD.
Kaylee first shot to fame in 2016 after a video of her singing the Leonard Cohen song was viewed at a Christmas school concert went viral and got 100,000 views in just a day. Kaylee attends the Killard House Special School in Northern Ireland.
One Facebook commenter found Kaylee to be an inspiration and said:
“Wow…I have a five yr. old grandson with autism and hope some day he can be as outgoing as she is…and kudos to Pentatonic for singing along with her”
While another commenter commended Pentatonix’ addition to this song, as well as Steve Harvey for creating Little Big Shots:
Goose bumps every time I hear them sing it. Way to go Kaylee… and good on ya #steveharvey for doing such wonderful inspiring family friendly television!
The principal of the school, Colin Millar, spoke about Kaylee after she garnered her viral fame:
“She’d be a very quiet little girl, but when she sings, she just opens up.”
What do you think of Kaylee’s voice? I’d love to hear her sing a range of different songs!
