Twelve-year-old Karolina Protsenko is no stranger to the stage, YouTube world, and performing arts scene. She’s a professional violinist with a massive following on YouTube (4 million) and Instagram (over 800K), and she’s been on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

There are so many delightful videos on Karolina’s YouTube channel but this one stands out because of the adorable participation of her little brother.
In it, her dad shows off his guitar playing skills, too.
The trio chose the song “Dance Monkey” by Australian singer Tones and I. The track was released last year and did extremely well on the charts in over 30 countries, peaking in the top ten and eventually reaching the number four spot in the US. It also broke the record for holding the most weeks at number one.
The singer briefly shares a bit about the song’s lyrics and how it talks of the relationship she had with her audience while performing on the streets of Australia.
In a Nova FM interview, she said:
“I wrote this song when I was busking, and about the pressure that I felt to always be entertaining people on the street. And if they didn’t like it, when they looked at their phones they could just click something else. We are all so used to being entertained at the click of a button. So when you’re busking on the street, to command your attention, people would be like: ‘Again! Again!’ or they would just leave.”

After Karolina gives a short introduction, she begins playing the violin and singing.
What a clear, strong voice she has! The multitalented twelve-year-old is definitely a born performer.
You can tell by the way she smiles straight at the camera, addresses her audience confidently, and sings and plays the violin with ease. Lucky for us we have social media to help us enjoy her performances!
The father and daughter duo nail their rendition of “Dance Monkey.” But even so, Karolina’s little brother steals the spotlight at times with his cuteness. He dances along to the music making it a perfect trio performance.
Watching the trio enjoy the song will surely put a smile on your face.
