They most certainly underestimated her.

America’s Got Talent is already a magical show with so many different acts that drop jaws and have the four judges smiling and shaking their heads from time to time.

Yet this time, a fairy graced the stage complete with an instrument no one really knows about.

Her name is Zelda and just wait until she works her magic.

She’s dressed like a woodland fairy, complete with the pointy ears and an instrument called an ocarina.

Zelda does the pre-audition chat with the judges, including an already visibly skeptical Simon Cowell.

Her name, to be more specific, is Freckled Zelda.

Whether you believe in fairies or not, her effect on the audience and judges is undeniable.

Judge Howie Mandel is at a loss for words as he talks to her about who she is and where she’s from.

The audience all have their necks craned and eyes inquisitive at the lady in costume who says she’s from an “enchanted forest”.

To prove to everyone that no one should be judged based on appearances, Zelda sings her rendition of “Colors of the Wind” from the Disney movie “Pocahontas”.

And wow does she have a voice!

Freckled Zelda does play the ocarina but really, it’s her singing that’s got the cheers going.

A viewer named Gloria James said,

“I love how different she is. She wasn’t swayed when they acted as if she was weird and when she said she can’t change at all; that she would always be a fairy I love how confident she was! People will support you only if you know what you stand up for.”

And what a fitting song to sing too!

Zelda, whether she chose to or not, has viewers and her audience lost in a world full of colors and magic.

Which is perhaps a good thing since we’re all just connected online.

We’ve lost that touch, and Zelda is here to seemingly restore that.

She hits each note perfectly, singing her heart out with passion that even the judges knew she was special.

As soon as Zelda finished, the praises came pouring.

“I’ll tell you what, when you walked out I thought this really is going to be terrible. I did, and actually you’ve got a really good voice,” Cowell said. “I mean you know, I don’t like the instrument, don’t think it’s necessary, carry on looking like that if you want because you’re interesting.”

“Thank you, Simon,” she said, crying.

“I don’t like the instrument, don’t think it’s necessary,” Cowell adds, “Carry on looking like that if you want, because you’re interesting.”

Sofia Vergara asks if she would ever ditch the costume, and Zelda tells her no, “I’m 100 per cent a fairy.”

“You’re never gonna change,” Vergara says, to which Zelda adds, “Never ever.”

Heidi Klum says, “I thought the potato flute was really cool, too, and I love that you are unique and different. ‘America Got Talent’ is a variety show, and we don’t all have to be the same. I think you’re great.”

Howie Mandel began with a Yes, with the other judges follow suit, leaving the fairy with tears of magical joy.
