Largely considered to be a golden era, it brought about an overflowing font of creativity in every genre imaginable.

Funk, soul, R&B, disco and pop music all took turns navigating the very brightest of spotlights. And then there was rock music. The ’70s were responsible for some of the greatest songs ever, ones we still love and sing to this day.

Enter “Stuck In The Middle,” the classic pop-rock groove by Stealers Wheel.

This 1972 hit single was co-written by guitarist Gerry Rafferty and keyboardist Joe Egan and ended up striking gold, selling more than a million copies worldwide.

It’s not hard to believe the impact this song had on the world. The catchy pop-rock ballad features smooth, airy guitar riffs and highly relatable lyrics:

“Clowns to the left of me
Jokers to the right
Here I am
Stuck in the middle with you.”

Generations following the song’s release have continually nurtured its success.

And when guitarist Josh Turner assembled some friends as bandmates for a quick impromptu jam session, they covered the song flawlessly.

Turner uploaded a recording of the session to his YouTube page, where it struck millions of viewers with awe.

He described the jam as a “pretty last-minute thing,” but there’s no doubt that it shines. With over three million views and 71,000 likes, this video defines a good cover!

The musically gifted Joshua Turner has risen to massive success through posting his music recordings on YouTube.

Over the course of 13 years, he’s enjoyed playing and sharing his talents with the world and is readying himself to release his first full-length album.

According to the biography on his website, Joshua Lee Turner is a multi-instrumentalist as well as a singer-songwriter. He is based out of Brooklyn, New York, and he’s perhaps most famous for his YouTube channel, which he uses to post covers and originals—which he’s been doing since he was 15 years old in 2007! Today, Turner tours internationally playing his own music, along with fellow musician Carson McKee as the folk duo The Other Favorites.

The youthful virtuoso’s YouTube channel is filled with stunning performances and intimate recordings, often featuring equally talented friends.

And their cover of the Stealers Wheel classic is no exception!

The video features a group of four in a casual living room setting. One electric guitar (Toni Lindgren), one acoustic guitar (Reina del Cid), Turner on the bass, and one drummer (Carson McKee) create the humble outfit.

As the familiar notes ring out to start the song, Reina offers her voice to the microphone, giving a talented rendition.
