What the song is about
Next, a lady is shown all alone on the beach. Is she there by herself or is she waiting for someone? The scene is a poignant reminder of even though we might think we are alone, there is always someone around, even if it is only our angels.
Symbology within the video
Some birds fly around overhead, seeming to hint at more to life than our physical existence. Maybe they are there to serve as a reminder that we are loved whether we know it or not. After all, angels are the ones that intercede with the powers above on our behalf and are in essence the answer to prayers.
The song touched viewers everywhere
As Groban sings the lyrics, you can feel the emotion he conveys, with many of the song’s listeners inspired by the song’s message. The video of Groban’s version of the song on YouTube has gotten over 800,000 views so far and 20,000 likes, showing how much it resonates with people online.
We are never truly alone
The lady on the beach is soon met by a man, so it would seem that she wasn’t all alone after all. But even without a companion by her side, she still has the angels above to keep her company through life and answer any prayers she has.
The song ends with Groban looking out at the sunset. Who knows what tomorrow will bring? But at least we have our angels above to keep us company and provide us comfort.
