Dating can be very tricky.
When it comes to finding someone you want to get to know and share your life with, there are many obstacles.
Maybe you’re not ready to be that open, or maybe they’ve been hurt in the past and are afraid of getting hurt again.
Whatever, the issues may be, some people can have long periods where they are single. These periods can be done on purpose, or they can be unintentional.
For 20-year-old Joseph O’Brien, he wasn’t trying to spend the first two decades of his life without a girlfriend, but he has.
We’ll give him credit, most people don’t start “dating for real” until they are teenagers, and even then, dating in your twenties is a lot more serious than in your teens.
Joseph might think he is far behind the curve, but 20 is very young in the scheme of things.
And now that he has been on America’s Got Talent, Joseph surely won’t have an issue with finding a girlfriend. Not with a voice like that!
The Columbia, Tennessee native has never even gone on a legitimate date. Nor has ever kissed anyone. Heidi Klum and Mel B were both very shocked to learn this information. Heidi even admitted her shock, because she thought he is so handsome!
For his audition, Joseph sang Lionel Richie’s hit song, “Hello” and it was an excellent song choice.
As soon as he finished, all of the women in the audience were screaming and cheering for him.
Howie Mandel was the first judge to voice their opinion and he told Joseph that he thought he was going to go very far in the competition.
Heidi told Joseph:
“I really didn’t expect this voice to come out of your motion. I’m gelling. I absolutely loved it!”
All four of the judges voted for Joseph to move on in the competition and Simon Cowell even told the young singer that he thought he’d have a lot of “snogging” in his future after women across the globe saw his audition on TV.
In under an hour after his audition was shared on America’s Got Talent’s Facebook page, hundreds of comments of support poured in for Joseph.
The AGT Facebook account even posted a comment teasing Facebook users that if they wanted to get a good word put in for them to Joseph, they should like the comment.
One Facebook user said:
I can’t believe he hasn’t had a girlfriend. So cute and talented. Sure this will be an eye opener for these girls now.
While another very sweet, older Facebook commenter wrote:
Love your voice and you, Joseph. I’m much to old to be your girlfriend but if you need another Grandma, I’m available.
Good luck…just know you will go far. This Grandma will be watching.
