It is true that music has already come a long way since it first started.

With all the advancements in music creation, a single person can easily create and arrange music. That’s simply because almost everything has already gone digital and music can be created simply by using technology.

Sure, it’s called “progress” but, at some point, it’s also stepping way too far forward from the real roots of music, wouldn’t you agree? Growing up is fine but we also need to look back at the good old days of music.

When we talk about good old music, one genre is country music.

The term “country music” became extremely popular back in the 1940s.

It’s a genre of popular music that originated with blues, old-time music, and different types of American folk music including Cajun, Creole, Appalachian, and the cowboy Western music styles of Red Dirt, New Mexico, Tejano, and Texas country.

According to Wikipedia, “In 2009, in the United States, country music was the most listened to rush hour radio genre during the evening commute, and second most popular in the morning commute.”

If you love country music then you are in for a treat. This video will give us all that rollercoaster ride of emotions. It’s a haunting performance from two great musical artists.

Jamey Johnson and Alison Krauss

In a YouTube video of their performance, Jamey Johnson and Alison Krauss joined forces and performed a piece of wonderful music.

They are set to sing “Seven Spanish Angels” in front of a huge crowd and that includes one of the original singers of the song itself, Willie Nelson.

Can they do the song justice? They sure can. These two are no strangers in the music industry for they already have their own credentials on the music charts.

Jamey Johnson is an award-winning singer-songwriter while Alison Krauss multi-Grammy Awards winner:

“As of 2019, she has won 27 Grammy Awards from 42 nominations, ranking her fourth behind Beyoncé, Quincy Jones and classical conductor Georg Solti for most Grammy Award wins overall. Krauss was the most awarded singer and the most awarded female artist in Grammy history until Beyoncé won her 28th Grammy in 2021. When Krauss won her first Grammy in 1991, she was the second-youngest winner, and is currently tied as the ninth-youngest.”

Jamey starts the first few lines of the song, showcasing what western music really sounds like.

His trademark mellow yet solid vocals are really something that’s propelled him to the spotlight of country music.

Soon comes Krauss’s parts of the performance and yes, what an angelic voice she has. Her voice sounds so delicate and it’s something we don’t usually hear from musical artists nowadays. If you are to ask what a Grammy Award winner sounds like, it sounds like Krauss.

Their solo parts are already pitch-perfect but their duet is something else.

It takes coordination and a precise tone placement to bring a perfectly harmonized blending.

Jamey and Alison’s voices are a perfect match.

The quality, the tone, the volume, melody, and everything that makes a piece of good music, they have it all. No one is overpowering the other, it looks like they’ve been performing together for years.

Willie Nelson, who’s in the crowd, must be so proud while watching the two perform.

Johnson and Krauss go off to the final stretch of their duet and it couldn’t sound any better. To hear and see two great artists sharing the same stage together is something that will never sound off even after the years to come.
