Have you ever gotten advice that was so bad, you felt the need to turn around and give that person advice back?
Honestly, there are some people in our lives that are just not cut out to give advice. They might be excellent listeners, but they don’t know how to convey their thoughts into logical plans.
That is okay, not everyone needs to be good at giving advice. There are also certain people you turn to for advice over others.
Most people are likely to ask their dad for advice about fixing things around their house or doing the taxes. While your mom knows exactly what health insurance plan you might need since she went to every appointment with you for years.
We even ask different friends for different forms of advice. We’ve all got one BFF who gives great relationship advice, while we have another friend who is like your career guru, they always know what you’re looking for in a job.
But what about the people who just give bad advice?
Well, thank god for Jimmy Fallon!
If you’re not familiar with the #Hashtags segment on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, prepared to get accustomed to it! It is one of the funniest bits that Jimmy does.
Typically, at the end of his Wednesday night program, Jimmy will ask his fans around the globe to tweet a response to that week’s hashtag. Then he reads the results on his Thursday night show. For this week, Jimmy wanted some bad advice.
For the hashtag, #WorstAdviceEver, there were parents, siblings, and friends used as examples of some really bad advice giving.

Oh boy, did neither of them know about the iPhone rice hack? Well, they’ve certainly learned their lesson.
That is only the start!

The guy at the hardware store told my friend that turpentine would remove paint from her hair. It did. It also removed her hair.
Clearly, it was that guy’s first week at the hardware store. Can you imagine if that person showed up to confront him and she didn’t have any hair?
I can’t tell if this next dad was actually giving their child advice or trying to troll them. What do you think?

My dad told me to always fry bacon shirtless so you never get grease stains.
I mean, he’s not wrong. But it is definitely not the smartest advice. And it is something that a dad can’t tell his daughter, either!
Now, this next one is almost certainly a sibling playing a joke, but you be the judge.
