There are plenty of pop singers out today who have incredible voices, but some are a bit underrated compared to others.
When you think of the best living female vocalists, you may be thinking of names like Adele, Celine Dion or Beyoncé. Still, there are plenty of other singers who have been on songs with those names whose talent is just as good (or quite near).
For just one example of that, consider Jessie J, a pop singer from England. Though she has plenty of hits in the UK and internationally, she might be best known for her collaboration “Bang Bang” with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj.
If you’ve heard it, you know just how electrifying Jessie J’s voice can be all on its own!
Like any pop star, Jessie J does big world tours—and she sometimes does audience participation and selection moments as well.
If you’ve ever been to one of these huge stadium concerts, you probably know just how many little kids come to the shows to be inspired by their idols. Though it goes without saying, Jessie J is no exception!
To pay back the love of her fans, she decided to pull one lucky little girl out of the crowd while she was touring in Romania. At the beginning of the clip, she asks the girl when her birthday is and gets her name.
After that, Jessie J asks the little girl if she likes to sing.
Jessie J then comments that she knows she does because of how the little girl was singing along to everything the whole time.
After that, she gets an idea. Instead of singing the next song herself, she’s going to cede all of her time to this 10-year-old girl. With that, she pulls her up onstage and the crowd givers her a huge round of applause.
Before long, Jessie J is trying to find some headphones to put in her ears and gives her a microphone and a pep talk. Finally, Jessie J says that this moment is going to be really scary, but it’s also going to change her life.
With that out of the way, the two get ready to perform Jessie J’s song “Masterpiece.”
After they’re both set up, the booming background music starts playing and it’s time for the little girl to perform.
Although everyone is nervous to see how it’s going to go, the little girl shows so much confidence from the very first notes! Even though she’s only 10 years old, she still has a great voice and delivers it all with confidence.
By the time she gets to the chorus, the whole crowd is on her side. The whole time Jessie J is there to give her support, but she doesn’t even need to help her sing because she’s doing such a good job!
Towards the end, the whole crowd is waving their arms along with her.
After a moment, Jessie J joins in and the two start dueting.
As the song continues, the two keep trading verses back and forth… and the whole thing is so heartfelt and adorable! Even though Jessie J put her under so much pressure, this 10-year-old girl absolutely nailed her performance.
She even finishes the song up on her own with a little solo! When the song is finally over, the two share a huge hug and the crowd gives them a huge round of applause. After it’s all over, the star says that it was one of the best days of her entire life.
