We’ve all seen the dance crazes that have swept the globe, but not many have captivated the world like the one brought on from “Jerusalema” by South African musician Master KG featuring Nomcebo Zikode.
Everyone from police to nuns, kids and even healthcare workers on the frontlines have recreated the catchy dance!
Master KG has started a dance that has connected people in a beautiful way.

In 2020, his song “Jerusalema” went viral, spreading like wildfire and peaking at #1 on the Billboard charts.
The music video for “Jerusalema is really what catapulted it into communities everywhere, but it wasn’t just for the incredible sound.
During the video, friends of Master KG did a catchy dance that became an internet sensation.
Soon, it was like everyone was doing it—more and more videos or people from all walks of life began popping up online.
The first video that went viral was by Angolan dance studio Fenomenos do Semba, who recorded themselves doing the dance during a lunch break and started blowing up all over the internet.
The worldwide dance phenomenon was giving everyone a reason to smile during the pandemic, and there were no limits to who was doing it.
From India to Australia, Africa, Italy, The United States, Sweden, South America and more, everyone is doing it! Even law enforcement from around the globe are doing the dance.
The Swiss Police and Irish Police even had a dance-off that you don’t want to miss!
One of our favorites has to be the Dominican nuns doing the “Jerusalema,” but with so many different people doing it, it’s hard to actually pick a favorite.
Another video that captivated people and warmed hearts around the world was by the Masaka Kids Africana.
Their slick moves and precious faces were an instant hit on YouTube, with their video already soaring above 10,000,000 views.
One of the funniest videos had to be of firefighters and ambulance workers in Sweden. They went all-out doing the dance challenge, with one of them even wearing a comical mask during the entire performance.
Believe it or not, even wildlife from the Zimbabwe Elephant Nursery got in on the action!
Both the elephants and giraffes at the wildlife animal sanctuary got down in the quirky dance challenge. The employees also did an awesome job with the dance… but of course, the animals stole the show.
There are too many “Jerusalema” challenge videos to show them all, but the last one we’ll leave you with is well-deserved.
My personal favorite was the nuns and priests in Italy, who surprised the world by going out of their normal practices to upload themselves doing the dance challenge and nailing it perfectly!
Whether it’s nuns or kids, first responders or police, animals or flight attendants, all of them bring smiles to our faces and joy to our hearts.
With all sorts of dance crazes flooding the internet, none are as contagious as the “Jerusalema” challenge!
