There are a lot of different elements that go into a great musical performance.

As anyone who’s a fan of reality singing shows knows, it actually takes a lot more than just having a good voice. For starters, however the judges happen to be feeling that day can also have a big effect on the reception of a performance.

Overall, though, it takes a combination of having talent, choosing the right song, and presenting yourself well to the audience. Of all the shows out there that highlight all of these elements the best, it may have to be The Voice.

And there was one performance in particular that showed just how true that is.

For those who don’t know, The Voice isn’t a show that’s exclusive to America—it’s actually a worldwide franchise.

The entire thing started in Holland as The Voice of Holland, though it has since spawned all kinds of different versions for different countries around the world. In each one, contestants walk out onstage before a panel of judges who have their backs turned.

As they perform, the judges can buzz in to turn around and see who’s singing. If they buzz in, they can try to recruit the singers for their own vocal teams. While each contestant competes to win, so does each of the judges.

This performance in particular took place on The Voice of Holland.

Like any other audition, it begins with a contestant walking out to the middle of the stage.

The woman’s name is Jennie Lena. As the first notes of the backing music play, she takes a deep breath and raises the microphone to her lips. A moment later, she lets out a hair-raising and absolutely electrifying first note.

It’s clear from the very beginning that her voice has so much power and so much purity in it that the entire performance is going to be one to remember! Sure enough, it’s so powerful that the judges do something virtually unprecedented.

After hearing just one note from her, all four of the judges hit their buzzers to turn around.

Although plenty of performers try to start off slow and build to a big moment, Lena decided to come out of the gate swinging.

Although nobody even knew what the song was, it soon becomes clear that she’s singing “Who’s Loving You” by the Jackson 5.

Although the original is a much loved classic, Lena’s version is just as good as any other version we’ve ever heard. Although she started off so powerfully, the song only gets better and better as it goes on. About halfway through, she hits another huge, polarizing note.

Before long, all the judges get on their feet and burst out in applause.

When the performance is finally over, the crowd gives her a huge round of applause.

Although there have been some great performances on The Voice over the years, for our money, this just may be the most powerful audition we’ve ever seen on any of the shows.

As it turns out, the video of this performance has earned more than 41 million views on YouTube—and it’s easy to see why! Needless to say, we’re expecting some big things from Lena in the future.
