Is there any song prettier than “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Elvis Presley?
It makes sense that Jaclyn Lovey would choose the song to audition with for The Voice!
As soon as she began singing, all four coaches started to look at each other and quietly discuss among themselves how pretty Jaclyn’s voice was.
Coach Blake Shelton looked deep in thought as Jaclyn belted out the bluesy lyrics. And he had a good reason, he was the first coach to hit his button and spin around!
But he wasn’t the only coach that wanted Jaclyn, Alicia Keys also turned around for Jaclyn! Alicia turned just seconds after Blake did and he was quick to jump out of his chair and yell at her for it.
Though Jaclyn didn’t get a four-chair turn, her audition still was incredible and has been viewed on YouTube over five million times.
Even though Kelly Clarkson didn’t make a big for Jaclyn, she was the first one to tell the 16-year-old that no one on The Voice sounds like her.
Alicia quickly made her bid to get Jaclyn on Team Alicia:
“I think sometimes in this world we feel like we have to overperform everything and it is really special that you just showed everybody that you can be simple and pure. I love listening to you sing.”
But Blake wasn’t going to let Jaclyn go without hearing what he had to say and it was quite interesting.
“For the first time in my life, I pictured myself, while you were singing, me riding a unicorn. The kind that has wings!”
He didn’t beg Jaclyn to be on his team, but he got pretty close toward the end there! If she liked unicorns, then Blake would have had this in the bag.
The unicorn comment might have come to bite Blake in the butt because Alicia was able to swoop in and tell Jaclyn how if she joined her team, they’d be able to keep her pure sound.
“I’m also a huge lover of the classic songs, I really get it. I see exactly what we can do together. We’d be able to find songs that suit your voice, just like this one did.”
Finally, though, coach Adam Levine told Jaclyn that it was time for her to pick a coach.
“Alright, I think it is time for you to pick a coach. It is either Alicia Keys, goddess of all things wonderful, or the unicorn whisperer over there.”
It is pretty easy to tell who she picked! Team Alicia all the way for Jaclyn. It seems that contestants just love to pick Alicia!
