At the age of 10, Morgan found her eyes glued to the performers when she had the opportunity to watch an Irish dance recital. She found the style quite extraordinary. Morgan wanted to be an equally extraordinary talent and she knew at that moment that she had found the dance style perfect for her.

“No one makes history by staying inside the box” is Morgan’s mantra, making her go beyond what’s considered enough. She has met other black Irish step dancers as she grew and developed as a seasoned dancer, but she found a way to truly stand out.

The young woman created a TikTok account back in December 2019 and through this platform, Morgan started sharing her talent to the world by posting videos of her performances.

Morgan is not your typical Irish step dancer, though. Instead of dancing to only traditional music, the talented dancer decided to up her game by dancing to hip-hop music and other modern genres. She danced to the music of Janet Jackson, Drake, Koffee, Doja Cat and even to the King of Pop’s songs!

The talented Irish step dancer was adored by thousands of fans online for her amazing routines. Irish or non-Irish, Morgan certainly is loved by lots of people all over the world!

Morgan truly loved Irish step dancing and it gave her a sense of accomplishment for she is having a chance to promote the art and the story behind it.

“Irish dance is like any other cultural art form, it was created to be shared,” Morgan shared in an interview with The Guardian. “It’s a dance that was born out of oppression; we can’t lose sight of that. For me, as a little black girl, it was a beautiful art I was desperate to be a part of.”

She wanted the world to see the beauty of Irish step dancing and has been going around the country to compete. She’s been to Dublin, Glasgow, and London. She’s been to cities in the United States to participate in contests as well.

Morgan was making a difference in her own way and this was confirmed when she had a memorable experience about how other girls see inspiration in her.

“The most surreal moment was a black mother telling me she let her daughter sign up for Irish dance classes because she saw me,” the young lady said. “I didn’t have someone who looked like me to look up to in what is historically a very white space. That I can be that person for young black dancers is an honor.”

Wow, this girl is unstoppable! Her passion for Irish step dancing is remarkable and her amazing accomplishments are a beautiful reminder to other girls that their dreams can come true.
