There’s something unexplainably joyful about Irish dancing. This type of dance is very important to the heritage and culture of Ireland, and the fact that it’s not really comparable to modern dancing is what makes it so special.
Irish dancing consists of lots of quick foot movements with little to no upper body movement, and a strict number of steps to be completed.
The dance is accompanied by music or singing which is normally fast paced and upbeat, and is without a doubt what makes Irish dancing so enjoyable to watch.
The Irish Dance World Championships are an annual event which celebrate the greatest Irish dancers in the world. Competitors come forward to dance up a storm together, and the winners can enjoy the title of being best in the world.
The amazing dancers’ routines are often shared on YouTube for us all to view, and one of our favorites has to be from a dance crew called FusionFighters.
One of their performances in particular might be dated from back in 2017, but was enjoyed by so many people around the world that it now has over 1.3 million views.
And while it’s not clear who was the winner of the championships, this dance crew were certainly the winners in our eyes.
There’s so much excitement involved in the dance, and we can’t help smiling as we watch the men tapping away with their feet. The men alternate their foot tapping with jumps, claps, and even at one point, a hand stand, and we’re constantly guessing what’s going to happen next.
This is without a doubt one of the most joyful dance routines we’ve ever watched.
