You see, the world’s always changing.

Sometimes cultures clash, even within nations and communities. Generational gaps can yield interesting conflicts. Sometimes, those conflicts aren’t antagonistic, but productive.

A common love can bring people together no matter their background or standing in life.

Music brings people together.

Jazz – the world-renowned genre originating in black communities in New Orleans at the start of the 20th century – has been bringing people together for about a century now.

A pair of prolific pianists were recently brought together through their common love for jazz.

Two hands and one piano.

Dotan Negrin is quite the pianist, playing outside in a handful of locales across the world. His keys have touched hearts in global centers like Paris and more recently, New York City.

He’s in love with the piano, often losing himself in his music.

In 2011, Negrin quit his day job. He wanted more out of life.

So what did he do?

Now, he travels to cities across the world playing his soulful piano. He’s performed in over 500 cities! In fact, he’s lived out of a van for six years!

During a recent outdoor performance, an elderly man approached Dotan.

“Can I join you?”

Dotan cracks a giant smile.

“Yeah.”

But who exactly is this stranger?

Well, it’s none other than prolific Danish film composer and pianist Frans Bak.
