There are certain songs that can make your heart go pitter-patter every time you listen to them. Many would agree that “Can’t Help Falling in Love” is one of those tunes.
While numerous artists have covered the Elvis classic – Il Divo’s rendition is so breathtaking it’s spreading chills across the internet. The quartet’s performance took place at BBC’s Proms in the Park in Hyde Park, London in front of a sea of concert-goers.
Il Divo is an all-male musical group that was created by Simon Cowell and introduced to the world in 2004. Their style of music is a unique combination of pop and opera that the vocalists beautifully blend together.
The classical crossover ensemble is made up of four members from different areas of the globe. Urs Bühler is Swiss, David Miller is American, Carlos Marin is Spanish, and Sébastien Izambard is French. They record music in multiple languages and according to their website, have sold more than 30 million albums.
Il Divo released a compilation album titled, The Greatest Hits. On that album was their rendition of the song “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
But before the album was released to the world – the Proms in the Park crowd was treated to a debut performance of the song. The vocalists were even joined by an orchestra on stage.
Sitting in a row and dressed in tuxedos, one by one the members of Il Divo take turns singing the lyrics to “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
Their voices are spellbinding as they put a classical spin on the tune that we’ve heard many times before. It’s a powerful, yet soothing, rendition that had the audience breaking in with cheers.

Elvis recorded “Can’t Help Falling in Love” for his 1961 album, Blue Hawaii. Since then, it’s been covered by popular musical artists like UB40, Michael Bublé, and Meghan Trainor.
Il Divo likely had many weak in the knees as they belted out the tune, which has lyrics that can melt your heart as well. They sing:
“Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling, so it goes
Some things are meant to be”
Several minutes into the performance it reaches new heights. All four of the members rise from their seats and join voices.
It’s a chill-worthy moment where you can sense the goosebumps spreading across the venue. Together they sing:
“Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can’t help falling in love with you”
Their rendition perfectly ends on a long, powerful note that brings down the house.
Once you hear the stunning talents of Il Divo, you might not be surprised that they’ve achieved international success.
They’ve performed in front of the Queen of England, and former U.S. presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and George Bush. According to the group’s website, Il Divo’s “the world leader in its genre.”
