Girls just wanna have fun. Isn’t that how the song goes? Well, it’s more than just a song — it’s a lifestyle. And this young lady knows exactly how to embrace that fabulous lifestyle.
Danielle Harrison performed at the Gleneagles Gala back in 2012 and to this day, her moves are still resonating with us. That is just how powerful her performance was.
Donning a red, white and blue outfit, Harrison hops onto the ice with 10/10 confidence. She lifts her arms up in the air almost as if to say, “here I am!” and is clearly excited to begin.
She moves to the back of the ice stage and breaks into a pose that she holds for a few moments. We guess you could say it’s the calm before the storm.
Then she begins to shake her hips and groove from side to side. Still not skating quite yet, but warming up to the groove of Cyndi Lauper’s classic 80s pop hit, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.”
She moves a foot to one side and then the other foot follows. She is already having so much fun and it radiates through her performance.
After spinning around once or twice, the skating begins.
Once she starts skating, we almost can’t believe our own eyes… And we can’t believe how young she is. It almost seems like she’s been doing this for a thousand years.
There is such an effortlessness to her skating. She glides with precision and ease. And not to mention, it looks like she’s going at 100 miles per hour all while maintaining her grace. She’s going so fast and she makes it look so easy!
She also matches the song’s attitude, flashing a little bit of savviness here and there. Harrison definitely radiates an energy that screams, “I am fabulous,” and we’re totally supportive of it. She is pretty fabulous, after all.
If these moves don’t impress you, nothing will.
She kicks back a few times and skates backward. She also throws in a few spins and every time she does, it looks like she’s spinning about 200 times in just a mere couple of seconds.
Her technique is incredible and no one can argue otherwise. At such a young age, this little lady is already ice skating like a seasoned professional!
Strangers from all over the world are loving her performance.
“I love this music! You always skate so beautifully to everything,” one person commented on the video of the performance.
They added, “I honestly don’t know how you are so amazing when you are much younger than a lot of skaters at your level! I hope you make it however far you want to go, whether it’s the Olympics or Worlds or whatever, I’m sure you can get there.”
This person isn’t wrong — Harrison really does skate on the same level as a lot of adults. If only we could see where she’s at in her career now.
We wouldn’t be surprised if she made it to the Olympics, that’s for sure!
“Lovely skate Danni,” another person commented. Another person complimented her outfit which is pretty fabulous.
