Though he’s a legend by now, Johnny Cash is an American singer-songwriter who recorded some true gems during his career.

One of his signature songs, “Folsom Prison Blues,” became a number one hit on the Country Music Charts in 1968. The song has inspired generations and generations of musicians and plenty of well-received covers.

And this video is a new generation’s take on an old hit!

These two talented musicians were ready to have some fun. Their guitars were tuned up and they were ready to shoot their video right at home. Though it goes without saying, they were ready to party!

This is a very funny video of a high-energy song!

As the video begins, it reveals two young men sitting across each other with a mic in between them.

They both have guitars resting on their laps and are ready to play. After hearing the famous “one, two, three,” the familiar sounds of “Folsom Prison Blues” echo throughout the room.

They seem to be very good friends and their facial expressions reveal that they understand each other without speaking a word. Their guitar playing is fabulous, and it’s definitely fulfilling to see both men having this much fun singing a song together. This jamming just puts a smile on a face, no questions asked.

Even so, it’s pretty impressive when they hit those low notes!

Their raw talent combined with their hard work is clearly producing great results.

Their harmony is great and the timing between their guitars is amazing. The lead guitar seems to be tuned to give more bass, which amplifies the Johnny Cash vibe. The guitar solo in the middle of the song sounds excellent and it seems like they’ve been practicing a lot.

This video proves that it must be great to have a friend with similar interests so that you can make great things happen together.

The funniest part is the end of the video when they start laughing together. Their contagious laugh is the cherry on top of it all and makes it obvious that there is a lot of fun going on.

One could put this video on an endless replay and we bet that Johnny Cash would enjoy it enormously. The two of them really bring their musical influences into a modern framework.

Carson McKee and Josh Turner are the stars of the video.

The video was published on Turner’s official YouTube channel and was first posted in 2016. Since then, it has earned more than four million views online! As it turns out, Turner often collaborates with his friends and his channel is full of different music covers, duets, and solo acts. The two of them have dived into different genres together. The funny thing is that Turner wrote that he started playing guitar when he was 13 because his PlayStation was confiscated. The Other Favorites is their mutual project which represents, by their own words, a contemporary reframing of country music.
